I am quirky, intelligent, and sarcastic.

My Self-Summary

I'm geeky, intelligent, offbeat, playful, affectionate, kinky, actively poly, and I try very hard not to fit into anyone's boxes or preconceived notions of what I should be. Most of the time I'm very good at this.

I love theater, games (board, card), traveling, intelligence, excellent food, indie films, poker, backgammon, and things too numerous to list. By day I'm a computer professional with a talent for both breaking things and keeping them from breaking. In my spare time, I play a fair bit of poker and study the game. I used to play professionally, but it's a really rough way to make an easy living. Plus, I learned that seeking out stupid people and surrounding myself with them wasn't all that much fun.

I'm also an avid photographer, and I shoot a fair bit of bondage as well as a lot of G-rated stuff. In the last year or so I've started showing my work, and I hope someday to make a name for myself.

Did I mention theater and travel? I have 50 quid and a London tube card in my wallet right now, and a hopefully-permanent London cell phone number. The last time I was in London, three different people stopped me on the street to ask for directions, and I was able to give correct answers to each of them.

Oh, I mentioned poly and kinky. I'm polyamorous, and in a relationship with someone. Like most things in my life it's an unusual situation. I definitely have room in my life for a primary partner, though, and would love to meet the person that I want to come home to every night.

I like to cuddle, and I like to have interesting conversations. The idea of staying up most of the night cuddling and talking and fooling around is particularly appealing to me.

I'm also kinky, and I've been involved in the leather/BDSM community on and off for almost two decades. I don't necessarily need that in a partner, but they need to be able to cope with that part of me. On the other hand, someone who thinks that missionary with the lights out is the be-all and end-all probably wouldn't be happy with me.

And, in case you didn't notice, I have flaming fuchsia hair. No, really!

I’m really good at

I'm good enough at poker to have made my living at it, and I'm not too shabby at some other games as well. I'm also sort of competent with a camera.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have flaming fuchsia hair, and you can see it a mile away. It's hard to imagine that someone would notice something else, start a conversation, and then a few minutes later say, "Oh! I just noticed that you have pink hair."

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I have a thing for John Irving, even if his last couple of books have been garbage. My taste in movies tends toward quirky and indie rather than Hollywood blockbuster. Real Genius, Cabaret, and American Beauty are all-time favorites of mine, and I enjoy Charlie Kaufman's stuff.

You really, REALLY don't want to know about my taste in music.

I love theater, especially musical theater. I've been known to trot off to other continents for a weekend just to see a play. (The last one was Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in Waiting For Godot. It was worthwhile.)

The six things I could never do without

My passport, internet access, friends, theater, a camera.

Things I *can* do without: television. I quit watching when I was in high school, and I've never gone back.

You should message me if

You have a significantly above-room-temperature IQ, function as an adult but still enjoy pillow fights, don't take yourself too seriously, and are looking for something that involves friendship with or without more.
