My self-summary
I'm a quirky girl who loves to laugh; I believe if you can't laugh at yourself, you're missing out on some of life's best jokes. I'm very optimistic and my friends say that I have a bubbly personality. I have a rebel streak that I am trying to cultivate ;)

I am a contemplative soul who can’t sit still, I aim to enjoy every second of my life, whether it is the exciting new activities that I try, or taking a moment to enjoy the comfort of a well loved hobby.

I ride horses, as often as I can, and that has made me enjoy being outdoors a lot more than I liked when I was younger. I love cycling in the nature park that's just down the road; although it annoys my friends and family that I have fun in the challenge of tackling all the hills in a higher gear. (Some people call it stubbornness, so I suppose I can be obstinate sometimes too.)

I love to have a good time, which is usually those days when I can just come home and curl up on the couch with a book or a movie. I'm willing to go out more, but it has to be with the right person.

My parents, brother and I moved to Canada from South Africa when I was a teenager; so they are all very important to me; as are the opportunities I would have missed if we hadn't made the move. I was upset at first, obviously; as a teenager, I wasn't fond of change but I was forced to adapt, and the move taught me an important lesson: To give new things a chance.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently enjoying a quiet summer in a library; the quiet is nice as it gives me a chance to focus on other things: for example, the archeological course I'm taking for fun and interest's sake. History has always fascinated me, so it's nice to be given a chance to study it at leisure between work hours.

I maintain the library's website, which I stimulating enough to keep me challenged but happy at the same time. Coding makes sense to me, and thus I'm always on the lookout for new features that could potentially be added to the site.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh unexpectedly; I surprise people sometimes with the things I say because my words do not always match my sometimes innocent demeanor.

Keeping promises; I believe honesty is a foundation for every relationship, and I endeavor to live up to my own standards regarding that.

Knowing the song, but not the title at first note hearing; Name that Tune is not my best game!

I enjoy a little competition, but I'm good at keeping it below the life-or-death point. Competitive, but losing is not the end of the world.

I'm good at listening without judgement.

I am extremely talented at cuddling.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes light up when I laugh; and everyone thinks they know where my accent is from but they usually guess wrong!

Otherwise, my quirky mix of humour and sarcasm seems to be pretty noticeable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Comfort Movies: ...say a lot about a person. My comfort movies are Speed, Sahara, and the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy, incl. bonus content from the extended editions (totally counts as one.) I like to forget troubles in healthy explosions, gunfights, and a few really epic battles. I am excited to see the behind-the-scenes of The Hobbit more than I am to see the extra 13 minutes.

TV Shows: These change every Fall-Spring season, but my current favourites are Grimm, Hannibal and Teen Wolf. I have random tastes. Doctor Who is usually a close runner up.

Books: Too many to count. I work in a library for a reason.

Music: I love all kinds depending on my mood, from rock to kpop, and everything in between.

Video Games: I love old style JRPGs, so Suikoden 1 & 2. The Final Fantasy series, especially FF6. and Dragon Age Origins. I'm a sucker for character stories, and these games are primarily based on characters and plot.
The six things I could never do without
Flying through the air on the back of a horse as we go over a jump.
Laughing when my cat falls off the table, and then pretends that he meant to do it.
Finding that one line in a book, a song, a TV show, a movie, or a video game that just makes sense.
That first bite of chocolate and strawberry when rich and tart just flood your senses with awesome.
Feeling bad but still laughing when I beat my family at a board game.
That spark of creativity that brings something new; whether watching it happen or feeling it myself, there is nothing like it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next travelling adventure--destinations are endless, but I wonder what fun I'll have on the journey?
On a typical Friday night I am
I'd unwind from the week by going for a ride; on bike or on horse, and when I got home afterwards, I would take a scalding hot shower, call up some friends.

We'd either stay in, and I'd cook some delicious pasta dish, or we'd try to go out somewhere fun and slightly embarrassing, like a karaoke bar. I'd sing an awesome song, probably from the 80's or 90's.

When I got home, I would play with my cat a little, pretend not to laugh at him, and read a book or play a video game until the early hours of the morning.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I run up open riser stairs just in case someone is grabbing for my ankle.
