I would consider myself a rather quiet person, though I enjoy doing things with friends on a regular basis. I come from Ventura, California, though I attended UC Davis undergrad, and now live in La Verne, California. I have spent my academic career studying science and history, mainly. I thoroughly enjoy public speaking, and have spent several years debating competitively. I like lively discussions, and I keep apprised of what's going on in the world of politics. I would say I'm a liberal, though I don't like to confine myself to any one side of the political spectrum. I'm easy going, love movies and numerous games (board, video, etc.), and I've spent a good deal of time playing tennis.

I'm currently attending graduate school at the Keck Graduate Institute in Claremont for my master's degree, coming off of a year working in a rather repetitive but rewarding job. I went to the University of California, Davis undergrad, and have a degree in microbiology.

word games. I'm an OK tennis player, and decent at soccer. I love to quote things and have a good memory for movies, T.V. and books. I'm also big fan of history and infectious disease (yeah, I know, being a fan of infectious disease makes sooooo much sense), so I guess I have some skills there. I'm also pretty good at speaking off the cuff.

I tend to be easy to get along with, though I can be a little stubborn. I don't antagonize people very often. People think I have a good sense of humor as well.

I enjoy a wide variety of each of these. Among books, my favorite novel is Catch-22. Kurt Vonnegut, Garth Nix, and Robert Jordan are my favorite sci-fi novelists. I am a big fan of historical fiction and nonfiction, and I've read quite a bit about disease.
In terms of movies, I'm a huge fan of comedy, though I like most film types. Horror tends to be the only type I don't enjoy. Some of my favorites are the Monty Python movies, anything by Mel Brooks, Gattaca, and most Tarantino films.
I tend to enjoy rock more than any of the music varieties, with some of my favorite artists being The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, Within Temptation, Rise Against and The Postal Service.
Favorite foods...I love food. I am no big fan of fish, though I often go to Japanese restaurants (if they're good for teryaki), and I don't like many of the green vegetables out there (it's sad, I know), but I'm a big fan of barbeque, and any genera of food out there tends to be a good one.
Everyone else seems to be doing T.V. shows, so I'll include mine. I watch Heroes every Monday, recently started watching Castle, used to like House, Scrubs, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Monk and Psych are great. Now for the cartoons: big fan of anime (too many series to list), I LOVE Venture Brothers, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, and Family Guy. Futurama, Simpsons (when it was good), and South Park are all great, and I still love gems from my childhood as Invader Zim and Angry Beavers.

Normally out with friends. I might go out to dinner, a party, or a movie, anything to get my mind off the week.

I used to be an absolute recluse. It took several years and some really good friends, but I've since come out of my shell.
