My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love adventures: board games, movie night, walking down the park, futzing around in a library, setting things on fire, robbing a museum, just casual things.

UT grad from Plan II/English. I'm an outgoing introvert, so I'll chat up strangers for hours but love staying in with friends ogling naked bodies on Game of Thrones. Also, totally using okc as a way to find people to build a queer movie group. Literally down to Netflix and chill.

I'm passionate when it comes to learning and am fairly ambitious, and I like people who are similarly engaged with progressing their lives. I'm spontaneous and constantly seeking new things to check out around Austin - it's important for me to be excited about my city and my own life, and I gravitate towards others who exhibit a similar sort of joie de vivre.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I get cyclically invested in: writing, embroidery, fitness, hiking, cooking, woodworking. Constantly educating myself about oppression, power, and subversion. I want to be a lady-in-waiting and a lumberjack. After all, gender is a performance or some shit, Butler said [citation needed].

Werk stuff: I write columns for magazines, short stories, and on the more corporate side I'm a marketing editor for a tech company. Pretty happy with my setup, as it gives me lots of time to pursue my hobbies!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'Il tell you what I'm bad at: getting cultural references, flirting with cute ladies, remembering to eat when I'm embroiled in a delicious book, understanding fine wine
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My resting bitch face, which vacillates between 'angry' and 'constipated.'

Feminist, queer, and POC theory is all incredibly important to me. It doesn't comprise my entire conversational repertoire but I love discussing it in depth with people, whether they agree with me or not. Sometimes I think that my interest in it is almost fan-fiction-like in nature, as if we live in some sci-fi universe and this is just the social theory about how strangely we're all written.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books/Movies - GG Marquez/Yiyun Li/Junot Diaz/Kazuo Ishiguro. Gaiman for some fantastically humorous writing. I love sci-fi and cross-genre work. Historical biographies (Destiny of the Republic) are really great too! Does anyone else develop deep crushes on historical figures? For me it's Madame de Pompadour and President James Garfield. Check out how he was elected, it's hilarious.

Music - My perfect Pandora station: Chopin, Gottschalk, Clazziquai, Janelle Monae, Justice, and Glass Animals. Throw some Biggie in there too.

Shows - There is no show I watch that distinguishes me from the Austinite doctor-who-and-game-of-thrones crowd. Recent pleasure: Black Mirror. Brazen pleasure: RuPaul's Drag Race.

Food - I cook a lot - the hotter the better. If there were a spicy food question, it would be set not even at mandatory, but exclusionary. Listen - Chinese people have an actual word for those who don't like spicy food, and it's not nice.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. my extensive collection of pens
2. books
3. nail polish
4. sriracha
5. bitchy-looking shoes
6. the young human skin I wear so nobody knows I'm a slug alien
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to be a better person. Social justice and action work. Literary and cultural analysis. Strange or beautiful things to do in Austin. Kindnesses towards other people.

Send me some longforms and I'll send you back my feelings charted on Excel.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, hitting up strangers, cooking senselessly elaborate meals because I get urges for everything at the worst times.

I like experiences over things. Especially when it's the experience of fine buttery Italian leather over starchy polyester.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have two laughs: a pretty giggle that I practiced in the mirror as an insecure teen and a guffaw so crude that I'll actually drool.

I'm poly/open (not currently in a primary-type relationship), so if you message me please keep that in mind :) I am very NSA, and pretty kink+!
You should message me if

A terminally ill and extremely rich person
You have a favorite historical epidemic
You're down for long conversations about incredibly intimate things, and getting into the weird nitty-gritty
You wanna do something most people think is boring (aka bingo nights/going to university lectures)
You're amused by terrible dancin and romancin

Also, my POC, femme, queer community - hit me up!
