I am charismatic, caring, and inquisitive.

My Self-Summary

I'm a perpetual learner who craves new experiences and enjoys being part of a warm circle of friends and family. I'm creative, confident, often laid back, but always passionate. I think everyone has a story, and so I try to see the good in everyone I meet.

What I’m doing with my life

By day, I work as the senior economic advisor to a senator. For now, it's how I'm trying to make a difference in my own way. I feel good about my work, but it doesn't consume me.

My evenings are usually filled with making music of some sort (jazz, rock, classical, it's all great), dinners with friends, exploring the city, or some off-beat activity. Weekends are great for hikes in Great Falls & Shenandoah, catching a movie or concert, chilling, working on interesting projects, going to bars with friends, parties, and dancing (ok, I've got my own unique style).

I’m really good at

I enjoy creating, bringing people together, and bringing out the best in them, and my friends say I have a unique flare for it. I conduct a 45-member choir for people in their 20s and early 30s, host weekly dinner parties, and organize a number of camping trips each year for my friends. There's nothing I love more than teaching and introducing friends to new activities.

The first things people usually notice about me

I never seem to sleep! (oh yeah, and i would be more likely to survive a low-hanging toxic cloud in a hypothetical nuclear winter because of my incredible NBA-drooling 5'4" height.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS...anything by George R.R. Martin; Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Wilkie Collin's Moonstone, Plato's Republic, anything on art & music, books on theoretical math (yep i'm a big dork), james jordan's Musician's Soul, Stieglitz's Globalization & Its Discontents, Susan Cooper's Dark Is Rising

MOVIES...all of them! Lord of the Rings, Love Actually, Payback, 100 Girls (my roommate's friend was in it), Bend It Like Beckham, Grosse Point Blank, The In-laws, The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore, About a Boy, 13 Conversations About the Same Thing, Something About Mary, Saved, The Croupier

MUSIC...rock, jazz, funk, classical, electronic, indie, a cappella. some of my favorites: eva cassidy, miles davis, dispatch, maroon 5, elvis costello, no doubt, paul van dyk, alicia keys, barenaked ladies, ben folds five, counting crows, dmb, norah jones, polyphonic spree, sting, u2, ootb

I spend a lot of time thinking about

People and how they interact...in groups, in pairs, in relationships, in friendships, really in any combination. Observing and thinking about this never ceases to amuse me!

On a typical Friday night I am

Out at a standing happy hour with my friends (who also happen to sing with my choir). Then it's time for a quick bite to eat and we're off to a movie, ice skating, dancing, or another bar!

You should message me if

I'm always up for meeting new people, especially those rare new friends who are smart, quick-witted, creative, open-minded, interested in a challenge, warm, and generally just a good person. Extra points if you have a sarcastic (or even acerbic) wit.
