I am introspective, graceful, and kind-hearted.

My Self-Summary

The not so fast, and not so dirty (warning ...several clichés ahead)

The Basics: Laid back, down to earth and quietly, passionately taking it all in. I'm friendly and easy going, down to earth and sweet. More than once I've been called a farm-girl type. I enjoy being compelled and stirred into discussions of a philosophical or poetic nature. Exalted when I realize how lucky I am to be alive, and disgusted when I catch myself taking it all for granted. I try to set my compass at the point between the two extremes - the middle way - life's dance being a sort of back and forth wobble. My spirituality for the most part is built on values such as honesty, awareness, responsibility, good work ethic, compassion, generosity, freedom, and kindness and are used as compass guiding points. I am an introverted dreamer (INFP) by nature, always amazed at where my sense of imagination and curiosity is able to take me.
I am happiest in natural settings - woods, fields, rivers.... I am sexiest going downhill on my 24speed. I think the best way to describe my personality is to liken it to green tea...not too strong but gently remarkable.

Friends and Family:
I am loyal - friends and family all inclusive. I may sometimes lose touch or drift away, but chances are I'll be back once the current has settled...still waters being deep and all that. I place a high value on relationships in life, and as a result am sometimes bewitched, bothered and bewildered by them. But for me they are an important reference point for understanding and awareness. My life is built of mother figures, father figures, tons of children and intimate friendships....wouldn't have it any other way :) The most exciting thing about life is finding those who you share a common passion or connection with, and to just let that breathe :)

Activities:
Being physically active is very important to me - beyond reasons based on vanity. Nothing makes me feel more alive than to feel my heart's drumming as I finish that last lap. Although I am not a seasoned runner, I understand the high. Being in love is nice too.... loving is infinitely better. When not cooped up in the gym due to a love hate relationship with Ottawa winters, you can also find me cycling/in-line skating down the river parkway, skating on rinks or canals, horseback riding, playing tennis, or doing yoga - I also have an interest in rock climbing and dancing (the class type stuff).

Downtime:
Music is a big one - checking out the listed favorites is a sure indicator that I was raised in a mish-mashed retro era that began somewhere in 1940 and ended in 89'. it wasn't until University that I was able to somewhat catch up to the tastes of my contemporaries as well as develop a deepened appreciation of Beethoven and Russian romantic music. Also spent a period binging on all things Quebecois (musically speaking) and their influences.
Although I am strongly introverted I do like going out from time to time- seeing a movie (Bytown, IMAX) or to the theatre (NAC, Theatre de L'ile, Nouvelle Scene), an orchestra performance (especially find of Chamberfest). My favourite season is autumn.
I play flute and acoustic guitar. I had a brief term as a temp in an orchestra - by far one of the best experiences I've had. I also like Scrabble, reading (i.e. Hesse,Tolstoy,Wilde) and writing (with no interest in publishing).

Academia and beyond:
Though my rationale can be a little sketchy at times, I am a student by nature (aren't we all). I like to discover patterns and relationships connections between my inner and outer world. I tend to favor history, psychology, and literature where the relation between people and events are a major focus. I also like symbolism mythology and Jungian psychology/philosophy. Joseph Campbell is awesome. I think the learning process, the feeling of discovering something for yourself, is exhilarating and life affirming - if I can effectively nurture within children a lifelong love with the learning process then I consider
I am studying to be a librarian.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently I am working in the field of administration (type, file, word process etc) while finishing University (I'm playing both Carleton and Algonquin for an Honors B.A in English and History, while doing a Librarian Technician Diploma. This will result in working for National Archives. Alternatively teaching middle school level and nurture within children a lifelong love of learning would also make me happy. In my spare time I am at the gym or doing outdoorsy things with friends. Indoorsy is fine to - I generally like anything that gets the heart rate up. I also like to make my life more interesting by adopting and exploring new hobbies and interests. Jumping out of a plane is the latest fascination with a set date :).

I’m really good at

Holding my own in a conversation, actively listening, seeing the bigger picture, being still quiet and content (sometimes), seeing the best in others, being with kids, playing the flute, changing my mind.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My future
My place and time in life and how I can best serve
What I want to accomplish
The value of others in my life and vice versa
What my body can do, and pushing (gently) its limits

On a typical Friday night I am

Out at the movies/theatre (sometimes), or taking the time to do an extra bit of cycling. Laser tag is fun. Sometimes I like to stay in for a quiet night and read, go on the hunt for new music. I dont like cooking by myself but I love cooking with friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

How about the runner up: I go to hot yoga because I love the feeling of sweating

You should message me if

If you enjoy hiking, cycling, looking to do active outdoor/indoor stuff and think we can connect.
