I live with an insatiable curiosity, a thirst for new experiences,
and a bravado that lands me in some "delicate" situations from time
to time. My motto has always been that, "There is only one thing in
the world that's actually going to kill you, odds are this isn't
it" this philosophy has led to a handful of near death experiences,
but the stories that go with them are definitely worth it. Besides
no one wants to hear about how you had a perfect day and everything
was roses. Now, that time you almost froze to death in the Canadian
hinterlands, that's worth a beer my friend. I'm temporarily a broke
college student(it's like being 18 again, but less angsty) I'm
looking for a partner, someone to have fun with. Someone whose not
afraid to alternately take life by the horns and spend lazy Sundays
watching Godzilla movies while drinking mimosas. Cheers!
What I’m doing with my life
O.K. long story, but in a nut shell, after a couple of businesses
(oddly successful, but I said it was a long story) a marriage, and
a stint in the Army. I wanted to chase down a doctorate in
Psychology. I hope to work with veterans with P.T.S.D. and T.B.I.
someday, but have landed a sweet academic library gig that lets me
get a BFA for free, so I'm a librarian for the moment:)
I’m really good at
I have what can best be described as an "eclectic" skill set. I've
been a carpenter, a soldier, a boy scout and choir boy, I've owned
a horse farm, been a blacksmith, and once citizen arrested a
peeping tom in Albuquerque (true story and one of my favs) I spent
a couple of semesters at C.C.A.D.(I ended up painting murals at
Fort Benning, also a funny story) so it could be said that I'm
artistic. Basically any skill that's not likely to come in handy
very often I've probably picked it up.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a loud and hearty laugh. People I've not seen in twenty
years have recognized me by it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read non-fiction like The maxims of war by Napoleon or The book
of the five rings by Musashi Miyamoto and then follow it up with
the literary equivalent of pork rinds like Star wars novels or the
latest Salvatore. In movies, I love quality art flicks and foreign
films, but am IN love with Kung-Fu and atomic threat rubber monster
movies(the worse the better).
As for music, I am similarly all over the map I love Louis
Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Waits, The Clash, The Talking
Heads, The Smiths, Patsy Klein, old Irish drinking songs(I know
many), Deee-lite, Lords of Acid, Portise Head, Morphine, some
Opera, a little classical, and so on, and so on.
I take my food seriously(and am quite the cook) I will eat anything
especially if I've never heard of it. To me food is an exotic
adventure you can have thrice a day. And, yes ladies, I eat meat. I
have canines and I know how to use them.
The six things I could never do without
Friends, family, movies, fine dining, a decent scotch, and better
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Alternative food sources, astrophysics, politics, video games, or
anything else that sparks my imagination (I have a very "ooo
shiny!" kind of brain)
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends, in with friends, or recovering from Thursday
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm an open book, If you ask I'll answer (just don't have anywhere
to be, I like to tell a story).
You should message me if
I sound like your brand of crazy.
