I am wondering, intelectual, and bubbly.
My Self-Summary
hi, I like this statistical info OK-Cupid gives, like your are
hornier than her, he is more materialistic etc. I read out a few to
my sister and she was so totally shocked that some said 'you (that
is me) are more organised than him' Or 'he is more chaotic than
you'. How can that be possible?
I have a sunny side (with [giggles], [weird jokes]) and a dark side
(with [inertia] and [depression]), in between I can be [serious],
[supportive], [silly], [lazy] or [active]. I like [reading] (lots
off diferent thing but scifi and fantasy have a special place in my
heart)
I am not very materialistic or ambitious in the usual sense of the
word. Don't own a car or a television. Do I do care about watching
[dr. Who] I do have a [garden] and I am loving it more and
more.
I also like playing games, mainly card games (klaverjas, canasta -
I would love to take up bridge) and scrablle (in Dutch and possibly
in English)
What I’m doing with my life
I am working on my MA thesis in philosophy, social and political
philosophy to be precise. Furthermore I work in my garden and try
to get in shape. Due to 'imperfect health' my condition is less
well than I would like. So I swim and go to the gym. Not very
fanatical.
I also love listening to the radio and to audioplays (dr Who!!)
I’m really good at
baking chocolate cake.
drawing the attention of small kids.
making weird word associations.
cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
gigly.
or akward shy and grumpy.
my hair is very springy lately, maybe that is noticible?
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(a) books are many (in random order and without any claim of being
complete): The Good Soldier Schweik by Jaroslav Hasek, all books by
Mary McCarthy, Dorothy L. Sayers, Lois McMaster Bujold, Stanislaw
Lem, Ian M. Banks, Octavia Butler, Ursula K. Le Guin and poems by
Lucebert, Hans Favery, e. e. cummings
(b) I like watching movies, but I find it hard to develop
favourites for them. They get a different place in my mind than
books do, for some reason. I like scifi films (even bad ones), I
like art films when in the mood, I am very bad with so-caled
'funny' movies, especially American one. Exceptions are all Monty
Phyton movies and Galaxy Quest.
(c) a wide variety: lots of 'world music' like Paradox Trio,
Pharao's Daughter, Charming Hostess, Mari Boine 'modern classical'
like: Henryk Gorecky, Bang on a Can, John Adams
(d) I like vegetables and fruits (at the moment not comepletely
vegetarian, but used to), I like all cuisines I think. A good
stamppot in the winter is lovely, a nice spicy Thai curry in
summer. All food made off fresh ingredients and lovingly prepared
is lovely (help, I sound like an advertisment). Even junk food at
its time has a place.
The six things I could never do without
why six?
-ok, the possibility/right to ask questions like "why six?".
-feeling connected to other people (well I can but it is
horrendous)
-the room to create things
-a sense of wonderment
-little childern (to make them laugh or look or cry if all else
fails)
-growing things
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my thesis
what to do
my loved ones
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I don't love traveling. It seems that it is about everyone's
favourite passtime (or perhaps just a dream?). I have traveled a
bit, but I have no great longing for it in any way.
You should message me if
you recognize yourself in anything? Perhaps?
