My Self-Summary

A few sentences about myself....This is always the difficult part

I'm a student at Nottingham University, in Nottingham, surprisingly enough. I'm reading an MA in Counselling Children and Young People in the School of Education.

I am deeply involved in the movement of studentdom...rights, representation, equality and welfare. Which I understand can be pretty scary for some people...

What I’m doing with my life

As well as being a student, I also have various business interests, none of which seem to make any money or seem to be able to pay me a wage, but there are benefits to others out of it which is important to me :)

How I pay for food though is still a mystery to me...

I would certainly say that I work more than I do anything else which is a sad situation to be in...I do enjoy what I do, but I would also like to be able to take more time off and to have more people to take time off with.
I do really enjoy my free time when I have it, although I'm not much of a "scene-queen", my idea of a relaxing evening would be going to a cafe for a nice drink on a warm night, or sitting in with some good food and a great film

Talking of Films, they are one of my passions. I may not be studying them, but I like talking about them, and love to see all sorts of different films. To be honest, I'm not too fussy about my films, but apparently, I'm very critical!

I’m really good at

Most things to do with computers. Any problem relating to them I can usually fix.

Knowing things...not useful things that you'd use in day to day life or even stuff that would come up on a quiz, just stupid things that you assume no one would know.

Helping people

Putting others before myself (which can also be a failing)

The first things people usually notice about me

The first thing people tend to notice are my eyes, I quite like them, and they change colour too!

The next would probably be how animated I can be when talking especially if I am talking about something passionately.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(a) My favourite books are Science Fiction / Science Fantasy books, by authors such as Terry Pratchett, Peter F. Hamilton, Anne McCaffrey, Trudi Canavan and Neal Asher. There's also a spattering of Stephen King in my library.

(b) Movies, I like a lot of movies. The Matrix Trilogy, Kill Bill 1 & 2, and there're a lot more, but I can't really name them all.

(c) Music, I also like a lot of music. My current Music Playlist runs through: Bloodhound Gang, AFI, Alkaline Trio, Ash, Audioslave, Die rzte, Drowning Pool, Eels, Electric Six, Green Day, InMe, Janes' Addiction, Muse, New Found Glory, A Perfect Circle, Placebo, Rammstein, System of a Down, The Darkness, The Avalanches, The Offspring, Scissor Sisters, American Hi-Fi, The Mars Volta, and Spunge to name, but a few.

d) Foods, I also like a lot of foods, having been a chef, I have tried a lot, and I don't really think I could pick a favourite, but some that I like are: Pizza, Pasta, Chicken Fajhitas, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma, Kho, Chicken Katsu, Thai, Japanese.

The six things I could never do without

My iPhone, it's like the Internet with me wherever I go. Yay for the Internet :)
my computer, connected to the Internet and facebook where I spend my stalker times...
My friends, dog, close people etc.
Music, film and other artistic expressions
I would say sex, but that would be a lie because I get so little that I do without it rather a lot lol. Do feel free to change that :)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Whether Chocolate Bunnies lay Chocolate eggs?

The future. I could just leave it at that, but I'll expand.

I'm now living near Loughborough, virtually in the middle of nowhere...a bit of a bitch to get into Nottingham for uni and placement, but I just about get by. Worse is the difficulty in going out and seeing friends which is more than a little annoying...

To me, the future is exceedingly important, and I think that I am looking forward to it a lot. I strive for change in most aspects of my life. In my work life for example, I love change, if it didn't happen I would be bored of my job.

On a typical Friday night I am

I could be working, or out with friends, or I could be spending an evening in with the TV, some friends, the computer, some ice cream or all 4.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't believe in a 'standard' gender binary, nor do I fit in to it. Should I decide to define my gender or my sexuality, Queer is my preferred term.

I feel no need to buy in to an archaic requirement to conform to a few sets of learned behaviour just because I so happen to have been born with a cock rather than a sarlacc (that's a technical, scientific term for a 'vagina' btw).

If this is a problem for you because you're so entrenched in the aforementioned system then the problem is probably with you rather than me...

I'm aware that that reading that probably makes me sound like a bit of an arsehole...but don't get me wrong, I have no problem with anyone else defining into whatever box they feel comfortable with, I just have a problem with someone trying to put me into their boxes or getting uptight when I challenge their view of the world by being me.

You should message me if

You like what you've read so far and think that we have potential to be friends or something more, oh, and if you got past "The most private thing I'm willing to admit here..." :)
