Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The fuller beard grew back this winter and may well be here to
stay, so if this is a turn-off please look elsewhere :)
Self motivated and proactive, I am building my financial future
rehabbing doubles with my son for rental. After 30 years as an
architect, I've opted to invest in a future where I actually build
what I've designed! It's very exhilarating and I'm learning to
enjoy both sides of my chosen profession.
My life is centered around an intimate relationship with God and I
desire a relationship where we are both thoroughly devoted to this
core belief in our purpose as lovers of HIS truths as expressed by
our devotion to loving each other and nurturing the best in the
world. This is no pie-in-the sky utopic vision; but a practical
application of what works. It's a lifelong process of growth and
appreciation of what we have been given and learning to become the
beauty we were designed to become. While I was extensively involved
in all the churches I attended I am currently not attending
services. I am happy to connect with one; but have no interest in
connecting with a body of believers not on a path parallel with my
I have a healthy mix of fun and work and also am devoted to keeping
fit to extend the vital years well into the triple digits! I never
take my health for granted. Life is a CELEBRATION. Are you
interested in joining me on this adventure?!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying the challenge of putting on my 'new hat' and navigating
the learning curve with only a few scrapes and bruises along the
way (many of them literal). I'm discovering the nuts and bolts of
construction are a bit more complex than my drawings indicate and
the process is both a little frustrating and quite
interesting/rewarding as well!
Also I am growing spiritually as I pray in tongues, study the Bible
and enjoy plenty of challenging relationships all molding me into
HIS image ... just getting started, even after over 50 years! It is
far from a steady, straight-line progression … more a roller
coaster, but the trajectory is consistent.
Finally I am actively seeking a woman to walk along side as we both
grow to encourage/challenge the BEST in each other. We all were
created with greatness and beauty as potentials in this life and I
am about realizing as much as possible to bring Glory to GOD.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
.... arriving at creative solutions to complex problems ... I've
always liked puzzles and my work fits well with this strength
Also I enjoy writing and communicating with transparency and
... filling a Kitchen with wonderful aromas of homemade bread,
lentil soup, Cincinnati Chili, mushroom/cheddar quiche. I love
... gardening, since I was 10, I delight in creating an
ever-blooming garden full of variety in textures/colors/fragrances.
And nothing is quite as tasty as a fresh salad you harvest from
your own backyard!
... writing, using the language to paint a clear picture, with
splashes of color and subtle delightful variations.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Other than my buoyant optimism, short stature, and Faith that all
things are possible with GOD, I am full of energy and enthusiasm.
There is little that frustrates me other than rudeness, opacity and
deceit. I'm an open book and look to meet someone who is all about
learning what makes the other 'sing'!

I find studying (not simply reading) the Bible VERY exciting ...
it's SO densely packed with the keys to living a happy and
I enjoyed Tess of D'Ubervilles, Wild at Heart, Hope Rising, The
Shack and The Naked Gospel. Life is Beautiful, It's a Wonderful
Life, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator were all compelling movies. I
watched Breaking Bad and Fringe (all the TV viewed) ... so yes I do
have a few quirky interests that you may find do not comport with a
committed Christian. I also listen to sports while working and
enjoy viewing the highlights of games on the internet. Jazz,
classic Rock, some classical and R&B and even a little country
play in the background is typical ... also like dancing so then a
polka or swing music, like big bands, is great.
I'll eat just about anything and enjoy all types of food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
intimacy with God, family, hopes and dreams (that's one), growing
joy and intimacy with one woman, garden space, kitchen (I
thoroughly enjoy cooking and baking)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what the future holds ... and how I can continue to design/shape my
life to maximize the opportunities to sing and dance through it
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Focused on completing a long-term project: restoring and renovating
my current residence, with the next one waiting in the wings! It
would be GREAT to have a relationship to provide the 'play' portion
of 'all work and no play' ... any takers?!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am blessed to struggle as I walk through life's difficulties and
challenges with a growing intimacy with God ... I am often
unequipped to endure them without reliance on an intimate
connection with God .. so I NEED God to thrive (I often fail in
this on the first go-around; but I get there eventually). I seek a
committed, vibrant relationship leading to marriage. I'm FAR from
perfect and am committed to working every day on growing to be
closer to the man I was created to become.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are ready, willing and able to invest in a long-term
relationship. My aspirations are to find someone with whom I can
commit to marriage; but it's great to make wonderful friends and
encourage others who are on a parallel journey. I appreciate a
response, positive or negative, when I invite someone to begin a
conversation. Should you opt to not respond I will block further
contact ...I am interested in limiting my search to only those
truly passionate about their relationship with God and
exploring/investing in a journey with me. I am happy to receive
messages of encouragement, even if you would decline a relationship
