A driven writer, an avid reader, an obsessive fan of music. I like stuff and things. I cling to the idea of warm weather. I'm in that stage of life where I need to move forward, be productive, and possibly have a dance party.

Working. Playing music. Over-criticizing my work. And my music. Uh, I read a lot and spend copious amounts of time with a family-like group of friends.

My greatest talent is my writing, though I suppose I have minor skills: I can speak, at length, about Duckburg (not particularly marketable but mildly amusing), over-analyzine literature (less amusing), and drink respectably.

I can't do cartwheels. If that's a requisite skill you're looking for, might as well stop reading now.

My beard. An affectation for ill-fitting suits. Possibly messy hair.

It is my opinion that JD Salinger is the greatest novelist of American letters, though I have an affinity for more modern writers, particularly the Literary Brat Pack, Dave Eggers, and Jeffery Eugenides. I've been reading or rereading some older writers, getting deeper appreciation for Fitzgerald and Hemingway. Also, too much John Irving and Philip Roth.

The deep running nerd nature I have coursing through me also sends me off on long rambles of comic reading, particularly Marvel super heroes, indie graphic novels, and the Vertigo line of old.

Cinema: Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, the Coens, Noah Bambauch, Miranda July.

And music, lord, the extent: Neutral Milk Hotel, a bulk of the Saddle Creek artists (oh, Kasher, you devilish genius), Spoon, Okkervil River. That whole lovely indie rock world, tempered as it is by classic folk (Dylan, Young) and bands like The Smiths and The Cure. The Appleseed Cast should be mentioned, and The Decemberists.

Glasses, pen, notepad, a book, a device capable of playing music, and an over-inflated desire to play with language.

Fiction and it's place in the world, in the creation and reading of it. What I'm doing with my free time. Should I get a haircut? What should I be for Halloween? Where's the party?

How to be as efficient as possible in regards to how much fun I'm having.

Track down good people, drink and be merry with them, and then find my way home, having reached maximum glory.

I spend more time considering the potential socio-political commentary of the cartoon 'Doug' than is fitting for a man my age.
