acoustic guitars, lady vocalists, angry girl music of the indie
literally just give me queer women/people in general making songs
and i'm happy.
the current soundtrack to my life:
the murmurs. dar williams. tracy chapman. chris pureka. hannah
& maggie. nervous but excited. k's choice (except for that one
extremely transphobic song) the indigo girls (though i'm mad at
them about not making a statement for trans women at michfest), ani
difranco (but i'm sort of upset with her right now too). missy
higgins. harry nilsson (he's not queer but darn is his voice
things i have read multiple times and still love:
assata shakur's autobiography, the bell jar, the unbearable
lightness of being, la casa de bernarda alba, zami: a new spelling
of my name.
i used to work at shakespeare camp.
i like flannery o'connor.
and also poetry, especially friendships like audre lorde and
joss whedon. (by which i mainly mean buffy, but i always love joss.
also, yes, i have seen his "genderism" speech and no i did not like
it). parenthood. friends. torchwood. my little pony: friendship is
magic. friday night lights. bones. twin peaks. my so-called life.
lip service. daria. the l-word. misfits. lost girl. true blood.
orange is the new black. nashville. american horror story (still
haven't finished asylum so no spoilies!). parks and
if it's queer i'll love it/at least have a lot of things to say
about it (my fave: better than chocolate. least fave: kissing
cheesy romantic comedies.
10 things i hate about you and across the universe.
