My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Ok, let's try this again. I am, at my core, a problem solver. I value mental over physical strength, though I recognize the need for both. I am driven by a need to understand and instill understanding in others. I can be blunt in conversation and have been known to be the realist in my circle of friends. I try my hardest to be empathetic, but the fact that it doesn't come naturally is incredibly obvious when that effort lapses. I have a knack for leadership, and tend to lead best when nobody else will or can. On a related note, I also have a knack for removing myself from a situation in order to make objective decisions -- unfortunately, this knack tends to backfire when making choices concerning my own life. I swear far too much, stay in touch far too little, and have a remarkably dry sense of humor. I am a loyal but somewhat unreliable friend. This profile probably comes off as pretty cold and callous, but I'd rather be honest about what I know about myself than try to craft a likable personality that kind of sounds like me on a good day. "I yam what I yam and that's all I yam", right?

The last time I took the Meyer-Briggs test, I got INTP. I have a feeling that's changed slightly by now, though.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My plans worked out, so right now I'm back to working overnights, but in a new city.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing. I honestly couldn't tell you why, I hardly ever read anymore, let alone write, but every English teacher I've ever had has been thoroughly impressed by the papers I turn in (accurate as recently as November 2013). Aside from that... I used to be good at several things, but time and my environment have changed that.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My manners. This is another thing that I put no conscious effort into. When meeting new people, I am as courteous and inoffensive as possible. This might be attributed to how I was raised and/or my reluctance to enter a prejudiced relationship with someone.

This is by no means a comprehensive list of media I've seen/heard/played -- I tried to keep myself to the few artists/shows/movies I simply could not imagine never watching/hearing again.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My hearing.
2. My friends.
3. My family.
Everything else I could stand to lose in the correct circumstances. The loss of any of those three things would irreversibly damage my happiness.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Lots of introspective stuff recently. Been really trying to figure out who I am and what I want out of life.
On a typical Friday night I am

I think this is where OKC expects some smarmy conditional that a given user thinks will "reel in" potential relationships. I don't care for mind games, so I'll just end with this: you probably decided whether or not I was worth messaging after reading two sentences. Go with your gut.
