My Self-Summary
I enjoy efficiency, subtlety and circumlocution. They're lovely
words and even better traits. I don't necessarily practice all or
any of them, though.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a mathematician. I spend an
inordinate amount of time reading from and scribbling on pieces of
paper, or drawing pictures and waving my hands as I try to explain
what I am thinking or not thinking about.
In order to get paid to do this, I teach. It's surprisingly interesting to explain something you know well to an audience. Although I'm very suspicious of the efficacy of lecture, I've grown to enjoy it.
Sometimes I play with paper, either folding or making things that should not be. I don't do this enough anymore since grad school anxiety is a fairly powerful thing.
I have a very simple long term goal. I'd like to own some land and grow some truffles.
