My self-summary
I love to read--Though I don't make as much time for it as I should. These days most of my reading is in short snippets when there's a few moments...this is enabled by ebooks through the nook app on my phone..

I'm not all that particular about what I do if I'm spending time with friends; it's the shared time/experiences that matter most to me--I'm a "quality time" kinda guy. I'm happy to roadtrip with friends, sit around a table and chat or play games, or whatever sounds good to us at the time.

I tend to have a rather reserved sense of humour; a bit dry and punny. Tennant's Doctor sarcastically asking "are you my mummy?" made me laugh out loud last week as I continue my tear through Doctor Who on Netflix. Allons-y!

I listen to all sorts of music; mostly my music selection varies by mood. I enjoy instrumental tracks, and this week have a new playlist mixing Doctor Who, Dark Knight, Star Wars, Gladiator, Anastasia, Aladdin, Lion King, and Star Trek pieces.

I'm a furry-pet person; I grew up with two cats, and as such consider myself to be a 'cat person'. I've tended to enjoy the company of dogs that belong to friends, but have never belonged to one myself.

On the whole, I tend to be on the quiet side, especially when I don't know people all that well. The larger the group, the quieter I tend to be on the outside. Once I know people, I tend to surprise them.

Regardless of the setting, I often find that I think a lot faster than I can speak, and have been known to make seemingly random leaps of logic in what I say, even though there's actually a discernible path from one thing to the other in my head.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a data management company at present, which has been a huge learning/growing experience. I'd like to someday work in a small town library, possibly a bookstore, or something else that fits my life--or that I can fit my life to. I'm also looking forward to resuming some painting (miniatures) and doing more writing this year.
I’m really good at
reading, writing, entertaining cats, taking random photos, and plenty of random stuff I'm probably not even aware of being good at.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World; Marley & Me; A Game of Thrones (I'm currently working my way through Feast for Crows, the fourth book in the Song of Ice and Fire series); my shelves are packed with old paperback series--Dragonlance, Magic: The Gathering, Aliens, with a spattering of Star Wars, Star Trek, Mechwarrior, and Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow...if I have the time and inclination, I'll read virtually anything..

MOVIES: Tuesdays With Morrie, Mr. Holland's Opus, The Lion King, Aladdin, Anastasia, Shaun of the Dead, Jurassic Park, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, School of Rock, Independence Day, Gladiator, Braveheart, Bella, Facing the Giants, Tommy Boy, Serendipity, Iron Man, Highlander, the Aliens series, etc.

MUSIC: I'll listen to pretty much anything, though I tend to "default" to country. Lately I'm enjoying the various instrumental pieces from the Doctor Who albums, music from the tv series.

FOOD: I'm not terribly particular about food--though I prefer that it have some "substance" to it...thin, chunkless soups and such don't do it for me. I like my salads full of other stuff as well as leaves and my cereal with milk. My favorite restaurants include BD's Original Mongolian BBQ, Texas or Brown Derby Roadhouse, Taco Bell, and Chinese Buffets.
The six things I could never do without
(in no particular order)

Something to read;
something to take photos with;
family/friends;
Netflix Streaming;
functioning vehicle;
cool temperatures.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Random stuff; depends on what pops into my head, what I overhear around me, what tv show I've just watched, etc.

Right now I have simple SQL codes and Doctor Who on the brain.
On a typical Friday night I am
doing whatever's come up--relaxing, reading, spending time with friends, visiting family, whatever.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I will probably watch the DVRed season finale of Grey's Anatomy before deleting it.
