My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Perennially over-educated, constantly dreaming, constantly doing.
Geek + activist = geektivist.
I spend much of my time figuring out ways to solve social problems. Right now for example I'm working on a project to solve Seattle's housing affordability crisis.

*shameless plug*
The project is called Housing Now Seattle and we're dedicated to the notion that everyone who works in Seattle should be able to live in Seattle. More info at

and share it with your friends!

In the past I've worked on projects to get protected bike lanes built in Seattle and Honolulu. You've probably seen some of my work.

Politically I'm a market savvy socialist.

I greatly enjoy science fiction shows, movies, and videogames. Boardgame nights are awesome.

Yes we Catan!

I like riding my bike plus playing dodgeball, soccer, and ultimate frisbee, though rarely all four in the same week.

I like to cook, especially if it means hanging out with other people in proximity to the kitchen.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
"This isn't a practice life, this is the big game." - Brother Ali, A Letter to My Countrymen

I've been collecting ideas, habits, skills, and relationships all my life. Big ideas come easy to me. Making them a reality is much harder, but I'm getting better at it.

I lived in Seattle for a few years, then went off to Hawaii. Last spring I got my Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from The University of Hawaii. (It's fun to say: MURP!)

I have been known to work in computer tech support to pay the bills an I may give that another go while I try to make the urban planning thing work.

I'm back in Seattle for the indefinite future, looking forward to new adventures.
I’m really good at

I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People say I look trustworthy and generally think I'm older than I am.

I mean...

Playing soccer, frisbee or dodgeball or hanging out with friends. I like having friends over for dinner and a movie or going out to a restaurant or bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Conventional wisdom holds that "it's not private if you put it on the internet" which is true insofar as one accepts private and "not private" as binary states of being. Can there be a spectrum of privacy on the internet?

All of which is to say, I sometimes overthink things.
