My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a feminist, a politically interested geek, a reader of fantasy and whatever else catches my fancy, watcher of movies and anime, and I spend most of my time thoroughly confused by myself and the world around me (confound it all, I love it though).
I love discussing gender, sexuality, and politics, fictional worlds, theology, and whatever else comes to mind. Often a radical in theory, but often mind-bogglingly normative in practice, at least from my perspective; might be a perception from the company I keep.
What I’m doing with my life

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Thinking. I also have too much time to do that, in general. I'm also really good at making arguments against the normative relationship structure of our society and notions of propriety and sexual ideals, but will probably, whatever I might argue, go into a sidetrack wondering to which extent people are rationalising versus reasoning.
Also random trivia.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably the glasses. Or the smirk. I'll have to ask someone. If my shirt is off, probably the tattoo. Or the fact that what the hell is that guy doing with his shirt off?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Based on what I've been singing along to recently, I'd say the musicals Wicked, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Les Miserables are quite high on my list of music, though my profile reveals that I also like Florence + The Machine, Gojira, Iron Maiden, Ani Difranco, Tori Amos and Sleater-Kinney, among others.

Books seems a list too long to write; I like fantasy books by authors such as Katharine Kerr, Lois McMaster Bujold, Terry Pratchett, N.K. Jemisin, and Kate Elliott. Sometimes I get a kick to read some actual classic literature, but most of my knowledge about that kind of thing (and Canadian history) is from reading Hark, a vagrant.

On the visual spectrum, my favourite serialised work of all time is Revolutionary Girl Utena, which is an anime for people who enjoy fairy-tales and their deconstruction. Everything else plays second fiddle (it's a very large fiddle).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Computer, books, comics, queer theory, my apartment and people to thrill.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Usually, gender and sexuality and stuff, currently the question of enthusiastic consent and how it's a wonderful ideal that should be promoted as much as possible (and the constraints that our discourse of shame and differently gendered ideals put on the idea) has been flying around my head a bit.
Fitting with my political science education, privatization and the public sector has intruded upon my mind now and then when it hasn't been full of thoughts of traveling around the world. Usually my trips go to specific places where my friends might live at the moment, though. The thought of moving to another country is also a recurring topic.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
3/4 Friday nights I work. The other ones I'm probably hanging out with some friends, playing boardgames or watching movies and making fun of the world.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am starting to think that I'm a very different person when I'm abroad.

You like singing along to musicals, traveling the world or want to discuss enthusiastic consent because that is a pretty awesome concept.
