My self-summary
I guess I'm kind of a weird guy, but hopefully in the good way. ^_^

I'm very liberal and not religious/spiritual, though I get along fairly well with people who are as long as they aren't the fire and brimstone types.

My sense of humor is an odd mix of wit and silliness. I can shift from acerbic to slapstick at the drop of a hat.

I'm very in touch with my inner child and can be something of a big kid. I'm told this can either be very adorable or very annoying.

I'm a big animal lover; especially cats and big dogs. Small yappy dogs and I don't get along too well though.

While I'm something of a nerd I also really enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping.

I also rather enjoy dorky things like the Muppets, 80's teen movies, musicals, Disney movies, Star Trek, magic (not the card game), Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Bruce Campbell movies, Weird Al, and ALF.

I am geeky, cynical, and liberal
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a graduate student at SUNY Albany.
I’m really good at
Coming up with interesting and useful inventions that unbeknownst to me came out years ago.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my red hair or my height.

I've been told I have the cuddly teddybear look.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(a)My list of favorite books changes depending on what I'm currently reading so if you are really interested you can ask. I normally go through quite a few books a year so it's really impossible to list them all here and I really can't begin to narrow them down to my favorites. I'll read just about anything except trashy romance novels. Though my favorite genres are science fiction, fantasy, and mystery.

(b)I'm a huge movie buff and my tastes tend to vary. I really like everything from Disney to artsy foreign flicks though I'm almost always up for a good comic book movie or musical.

(c)I love music (who doesn't?) and have quite varied tastes. Some of my favorite bands/artists include Fall Out Boy, Saves the Day, Weird Al Yankovic, Reel Big Fish, Voltaire, Dashboard Confessional, Disturbed, Disney music, Great Big Sea, Brandtson, Johnny Cash, Iron and Wine, The Offspring, Julia Nunes, Sara Bareilles, Linkin Park, Ben Fold +/- 5, Snow Patrol, PAIN, Tom Petty, The Fray, Regina Spektor, My Chemical Romance, Weezer, Taylor Swift, Fun., Foreigner, Journey, The Lonely Island, Garfunkel and Oates, and many more.

(d) All kinds of food. I really love going out and trying new things.
The six things I could never do without
See Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

Those that I'd like to keep are:

1) Money. I'm not overly materialistic but it does play a vital role in our society and lets face it, who wants to be poor?

2) Friends. This one seems pretty obvious. Humans are social creatures after all.

3) My phone. I've become quite addicted to my smart phone.

4) Entertainment. Whether it be books, movies, television, or the internet I need something to preoccupy myself with or I become overwhelmed with the stress of everyday life.

5) Alone time.

6) My glasses. I'm pretty blind without them and would invariably end up bumbling along like Mr. Magoo.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The past, present, future...the usual.
On a typical Friday night I am
I tend to go to bed early since I have to be awake by 4:30 am on Saturday for work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have an unnatural love of musicals.

I may be the guy in the car next to you shamelessly grooving to his music.

Oh and I've finally come to terms with being an anglophile.
