I am playful, intelligent, and sarcastic.

My Self-Summary

I'm completely and utterly miserable unless I'm eating, sleeping, listening to music, reading, wandering DC, going to the movies, or hanging out with my friends. I'm not serious unless I have to be. When I have excess energy, I will run ahead of the people I am walking with, and then run back and pretend to crash into them. I was raised on sarcasm and affection, and my favorite people in my life are subjected to both as often as I can manage. Bad puns amuse me more than they should. I would move to Canada if it wasn't so cold. When I'm bored, I like to write out song lyrics. And I think that about covers it. Ah yes, and I've worked in international tax and consulting since I graduated in December 2004 from American University.

What I’m doing with my life

Working at a Big Four accounting firm and going to as many concerts as humanly possible.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My mom is a school librarian, so I grew up surrounded by books. Going to the bookstore or library was just as exciting to me as a kid as going to the candy or toy store. I am partial to well written prose and well drawn characters in the form of novels, short stories, and memoirs. My favorites include Plainsong, The Blind Assassin, Dry, After Dark, I Know This Much Is True, Middlesex, Bel Canto, The Kite Runner, East of Eden, Never Let Me Go, Me Talk Pretty One Day, and The God of Small Things.

Music is probably what I am most passionate about- The National, Voxtrot, Tegan and Sara, The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, The Killers, The Kooks, Neko Case, Counting Crows, Andrew Bird, Iron and Wine, Modest Mouse, Rogue Wave, MGMT, Fleet Foxes, The Smiths, Bon Iver, Wilco, Ra Ra Riot, Band of Horses, and etc. At any given point in time, I am generally holding concert tickets for the 9:30 Club and/ or Black Cat.

Movies: Lost In Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dirty Pretty Things, No End In Sight, Saved!, A Fish Called Wanda, Brick, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Charlie Wilson's War, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Constant Gardener, The Royal Tenenbaums, Serenity, Adaptation, A Mighty Wind, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Memento, The Edge of Heaven, I've Loved You So Long. I can often be found at the E Street Cinema.

As for food... Indian is probably my favorite, though I don't eat it quite as often since I came back from three months in India. Love sushi (only the vegetarian kind despite being an omnivore) and edamame. Thai, pizza, sandwiches, crepes, and Mediterranean food are also quite tasty.

The six things I could never do without

1. People who make me laugh.
2. Music.
3. Books/ The New Yorker.
4. Sneakers (especially my Pumas).
5. Photographs.
6. Making lists.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with my friends, wandering about the city, trying out a new place to eat, playing ping pong, watching a movie, frequenting a pub... most likely some combination of the aforementioned items.
