My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
At first, everyone I meet thinks that I'm naive and innocent. Then they're surprised when they find out later that I'm much more... earthy. So don't be misled too much by this wholesome profile. I'm also quite technologically proficient.

I'm from Maine originally. I tell horrible jokes, and my conversations tend to wander far, far, far away....

I am curious, creative, and outdoorsy

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm in the Materials Science PhD program at the University of Rochester.

I ride my bicycle year-round.

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing, science, writing, math, baking and cooking, listening, and talking. But not at the same time.

I can pitch a tent and build a fire, hike a 70-pound pack for 6 miles uphill at high altitude without stopping, and use a chainsaw properly and usefully. I can split wood with an axe without causing serious injury. I enjoy skinny-dipping.

I tell jokes well. Well, I tell bad jokes, but I tell them well.

The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sing or whistle to myself a large amount of the time. People usually go through a cycle when reacting to this: surprise, annoyance, and amusement.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Recently I saw an Iranian film called "Crimson Gold". Pretty good. And "Love Me If You Dare" was good and a little traumatizing. Best? Maybe "American Splendor".
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good books, pen & paper, family & friends, woods & mountains, a challenge.

I'm told that I have listed FIVE things (or sets, anyway). So, why don't you guess the sixth one? No, it's not THAT! Sheesh, what a one-track mind you've got.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Just about everything. Ask me; you'll see.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
...going out with my Significant Other. Or working in my basement with my scanning electron microscope. No, I'm not kidding. I really do have a girlfriend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I know how fundamentally selfish I am, and I try not to let it show through. I try to always be kind and considerate, so that people will like me.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you can spell. If you're curious about anything. If you're smart, or a smart-ass. If you're outdoorsy. Or make up your own reason and write me with that. :-)
