I am cute, smart, fit, and funny, with a fine mind, a quick wit, a warm heart, an old soul, and a light-up-the-night smile. I am at once blazingly articulate and deeply empathetic. About 10 years ago, I moved here to teach at a college near L.A. I am still puzzled by SoCal (does it have a soul? Or just lots of freeways?). But I really like my job: my students are bright and socially aware. My 19-year-old daughter, who is a student at a college on the eastern seaboard, is a luminous child, and a lovely emerging young woman: we both love to read, listen to music, talk about anything and everything (the Supreme Court, the morality of the death penalty, more environmentally responsible ways of doing things), dance, and travel to SF, where we walk ALL over the city. My demeanor is both straightforward and feminine (NOT high maintenance: I don’t paint my nails, and I cannot walk in ‘F me’ pumps or teach in short skirts). I am active and happily embodied; I am not a house plant, a lawn ornament, of a hot-house flower. “Without music, life would be an error,” said Nietzsche; I agree. My life is good; really, I have very few complaints. But I think it could be even better if I had a warm, loving, and happy partner. I am the eye of someone’s storm…perhaps yours.

I teach at the post-secondary level and have done that for my whole adult life. My students are smart and warm-hearted, and I love my job. When I'm NOT working, I like being out of doors (I spend a lot of time in my low water use yard), engaging in good conversation, and going dancing.

I read widely and eclectically, mostly non-fiction. I like lots of different kinds of music, including doo-wop, bebop, and lindy hop, love noir-ish political movies, and am a pretty decent vegetarian cook.
