I really like meeting and learning about people, and taking part in warm (and hot) relationships that allow me to connect and also feel free. Free because I also have quite a solitary side: the part of me that likes to think and create and write requires a lot of time alone. Balanced against that is a different me: At the end of the day or after a show I sometimes feel like the most forlorn orphan(!) and have a real need for intimacy and contact, touch and talk and wonder about life.
What I do depends a lot on the seasons. In summer I ride a motorbike and cruise around the city or do adventure trips (across Canada last summer). I also like to bicycle around the city, check out bookstores and hang in cafe's, stop by the spice store and find some exotic thing to cook with, jam with musicians or catch an act at the jazzfest or the Mile End. During tennis season I'll play three times a week if I can find time and good partners.
In winter I like cycling too, as the bike paths empty and cycling becomes a bit of an extreme sport. There's also a gym near my house where I can play squash or the odd game of tennis, and work out two or three times a week if I can find the time. If I can find a way to get south I LOVE beachcombing and snorkeling and scuba diving.
My favorite times are often when there`s absolutely nothing I have to do. Then if I have a lover (which does happen!) we'll hang out and fool around in bed until 1 in the afternoon, then head up to the Mile End and do a bit of shopping, say hello to friends and drag something decent home for supper. Then in the evening catch a show or curl up with that warm person on the couch and watch the fireplace, and see where that takes us.
