My self-summary
Me in a nutshell:

Playful = us rolling down the grassy hill like we did when we were kids, just 'cuz we feel like it.

Free-spirited = seeing the world from my own perspective, not the one we are told to have.

Kind = I smile at strangers on the street just to see if I can make them smile back.

Spontaneous = Road Trip!!!

Sensual = If you see me dance you'll know.

Happy = actively making choices in my life that allow for balance and well-being

Curious = Never stopped asking why???

Active = I try to run or do yoga, or something physical every day.

I've kayaked down the Mekong in Laos, slept in Bedouin tents in Jordan and scuba-dived in Egypt. I've been to churches built into the stone hills in Lalibela, Ethiopia, and I've seen the beauty of the Masai Mara. As much as I like adventure, I also very much enjoy solitude, and quiet days on my couch listening to NPR are what ground me.
The times I have the most fun are cooking big dinners and having friends over. I love being outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, and I don't feel quite right if I go a couple weeks without getting out of the city.
What I’m doing with my life
Meeting wonderful people and actively working to form a community in my new city.

Getting outdoors as much as possible, running, hiking, camping. I took sailing lessons last summer, but I want to learn to windsurf this year. I wish I could say kayaking, but I haven't found anyone to go kayaking with in the bay area yet.

Learning to dance- I've been pretty excited about blues dancing, and I'm trying to make time for it. I want to learn tango this year.

Trying to leave a positive impact on the world.

I'm a family physician just starting out after residency. After many years of questioning "what am I doing with my life...did I make a mistake, ahhh" I think I've finally realized that helping people through medicine is my passion. And I'm feeling very thankful to be where I am. (To dispel some pre-conceptions there... I do love my job. But, I am life driven, not career driven. I work part-time, so that makes me lucky enough to have lots of time to pursue my other interests in life.)
I’m really good at
Cooking, whatever it is I can definitely make it taste good. I can cook anything from chicken bouillabaisse, to apple custard tart, to a mean hot buttered rum, (and if you do the dishes, the chef wears just an apron ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair, they will often stare and try to touch it. Even total strangers. (I wish I could say my magnetic personality and intelligent eyes, but it really is the hair, oh well.)
Oh, and the booty.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite books are anything by Salman Rushdie, Tom Robbins, or Haruki Murakami.

According to netflix, I like cerebral foreign comedies, emotional dramas featuring a strong female lead (I can't believe I just admitted that here....), and mind-bending documentaries- I guess they would know. Basically, something with some depth, that can push my mind to see things differently. I also like things with a bit of a dark side.

I'm really missing KEXP (a public radio station in Seattle- anything they play is pretty good.) But, I looove KPOO. That said, some musicians I like are Mercedes Sosa, Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, Silvio Rodriguez, Astor Piazolla, Modest Mouse, Avett Brothers, the Chieftans, Marcio Faraco, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Massive Attack, Tom Waits, Moby, Erykah Badu, Tracy Chapman, the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Manu Chao, the list goes on.

I also love going out to camp at the farm I get my veggies from. The best part is canning organic heirloom tomatoes with my camping stove in the company of about 50 people while drinking Bloody Mary's.
The six things I could never do without
Hmmmmm (aside from the obvious friends, family, nature...)
A good chef's knife, hiking boots, passport, yoga mat, books, my radio.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to choose between and make time for all the things I want to do.
How to understand this crazy world we live in.
What to make out of the veggies in my box.
How pretty trees are.
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out to dinner with friends, blues dancing, or sitting around a campfire.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Is something you'll find out when you meet me.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 30–42
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You are a person with a positive outlook on life, you like to enjoy the world around you, and you laugh often. Belly laughs and Eskimo kisses a plus, not afraid to try something new.
Let's go on a hike, grab a cup of coffee, or feel free to suggest something.

Also, I'm not a fan of chatting online- I'd much rather just meet, and see how it goes.
