I’m an English literature grad student working on my PhD, so I
spend most of my time reading and studying. I used to want to teach
at a university after finishing my PhD, but life is too short to,
well, waste it at a research school.
I'm also an activist, I guess, whether I think of myself that way or not, though I've been on hiatus recently.
I'm usually hanging out at home or on campus (now that I finally have an office). I don’t mind going out, but I don’t always have the time or cash to spare. That’s why this profile exists—it’s tough to meet people when there's no breathing room in your schedule.
I’m interested in someone who appreciates the intellectual side of life, able to spend an evening in conversation. I’m not specifically looking for a serious relationship, but I’m not set against one if it develops. More than anything, I want someone I genuinely enjoy spending time with.
An ideal first date would be something like an art show or museum exhibit, drinks or coffee, a scenic walk—anything that gives us an opportunity to get acquainted. Concerts, movies, and theatre are great for later dates, but for me, the most important thing in a relationship is a solid friendship; a good first date is one where we can explore our interests and personalities, and get a feel for the experience of being around one another.
