My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Part Nigella Lawson (except for the legal troubles), part Bettie Page (except for the public naughty pics), part girl next door (except that, uh, I don't think I actually live next door to you).

I make a mean Bourbon Sour (or an Old-Fashioned), an excellent Braised Pork Taco and a wicked cupcake. Sometimes, I do all of those things while wearing heels and red lipstick. I feel best when I'm ever-so-slightly dressed up, though on the weekends, I'm happy in jeans and chapstick. And a top, just in case that's not clear.

Happiest when giggling hysterically, I'm looking for someone who can keep my sense of humour on its toes. Quick wit is good, dry humour is lovely and I will always smirk at a dirty double entendre. (If I don't say it first.)

I like Canadian spelling, anything to do with large bodies of water, road trips, late nights, afternoon matinees, fountain pens, bourbon and burgers (and I know where all the best spots are).

Travel is really important to me; I get antsy when my passport is just a book of blank pages. Not a resort girl; I like to go off the beaten track.

I'm a curvy girl with a vintage edge at times, looking for that funny guy who loves food, wine and travel. Bonus points for being tall and broad and a little bit geeky.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I write stuff. And photograph stuff.
And then eat the stuff I've written about and photographed.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Photography, mixing old-fashioned cocktails, drinking those old-fashioned cocktails, traveling, making people laugh, swimming in random lakes, cooking and baking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm going to go with eyes . . . or at least that's what they tell me. Could be a euphemism.
Or, possibly, my extremely loud laugh.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

My music tastes are eclectic. My iPod has a very random collection of almost everything except gangster rap and extreme metal. I not-so-secretly like '80s music. I not-so-secretly like pop music that I sing along with very poorly.
Lately, like about 80 per cent of women everywhere, I've been listening to Adele. Heartbreak did that girl good.
But I'm also loving The Horrible Crowes, Gaslight Anthem, Lissie and Bon Iver.

For books, I'll take lit over bestsellers, but love it when those things come together. All-time favourites include When God Was a Rabbit, Pride & Prejudice (but I read the Zombies version too), A Prayer for Owen Meany and Memoirs of a Geisha.

TV wise, I've got a weakness for Joss Whedon, but love a good sitcom. Think Community (when it was still funny) and New Girl. Of course, drama wise, nothing beats the Wire (and I wonder if that comment will get me on that Twitter feed). I also like terrible TV shows that I will only talk about once we've actually had a drink together.

And I'm pretty much up for any movie, except horror. Because then I have to leave all the lights on and that's not good for the electrical bill.

And food? Yeah, I like it. All different kinds of it. There is nothing finer than a really good meal and a glass of wine, but that doesn't mean I'm above a nice burger. I love burgers. It's almost an unnatural obsession. Almost.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
A good cocktail
Valid passport
My friends
A sharp chef's knife
iPod/iPhone loaded with music and earphones
Lemon desserts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why everyone's profile has a line that starts with "I am" and is followed by three adjectives. How come I didn't get that question?
Oh, and I think about my next kitchen project, my next trip and whether my music tastes are too eclectic.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm probably more open than I should be, but you have to at least meet me before I'm going to start sharing.

Um, anything above looks intriguing. Or you'd like a whisky sour. Or a bourbon one.
