I am reliable, persistant, and patient.

My Self-Summary

I am a jack of all trades and a master of some. I am happiest building or repairing things and have a talent for successfully completing projects that others thought were impossible.

I am loyal and giving to my friends and lovers. While sometimes slow to approach people due to shyness, I am quite gregarious once introduced.

Myers-Briggs: INTJ

What I’m doing with my life

I am juggling two major projects at work, designing a world wide supply chain for one line of jet engines and upgrading engine monitoring system in a dozen countries for another.

In my spare time, I participate in the Society for Creative Anachronisms aka the SCA and spend a lot of time making assorted costumes and Historic Costumes for theatre and SCA events and rennaisance faires.

At the moment I am planning my annual Gourd Mutilation party. Which would go better with eviscerated pumpkins: potato, beer and Gruyere soup or pumpkin soup? I will already be serving mini pumpkin pies so I am leaning towards the potato..

I’m really good at

Creative projects, from woodworking, wood carving, cooking, sewing, electrical, plumbing, stone wall construction to just plain gardening.

In general I have yet to meet a creative project I could not accomplish.

The first things people usually notice about me

My laughter.

After that my height, my size and the twinkle in my brown eyes.

Occasionally it is the costumes I am wearing...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A) David Brin, Patterns of Fashion by Janet Arnold, Sharon Lee & Steve Miller, most anything by Neil Gaiman, or by Phil Foglio.

B) Forbidden Planet, The Matrix, Iron Giant, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totaro, Serenity, Wristcutters a Love Story, Kate and Leopold, The Lion in Winter, most period costume dramas.

C) Jethro Tull, Stan Rogers, Enya, Enigma, Genesis, Weird Al, various classical, new age, modern artists, and occasionally even a little country.

D) Thai, sushi, good Italian, French, Spanish, Creole, Mexican

The six things I could never do without

In no particular order: Friends, Tools, Computers, Cooking equipment, Sewing Machine, and Books

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What sort of mayhem I will sponsor at my annual Gourd Massacre. The pumpkins are shivering out there on the porch in anticipation of the ravening horde descending upon them with sharp knives. I need more votive candles...

I have been rather introspective of late, I like kids and helped to raise my niece, but would still like some of my own. I am getting a bit old for that but keep hoping I can find someone who is both interested in me and willing to consider kids.

On a typical Friday night I am

Sewing frantically to finish whatever is due on Saturday.

The current projects involve a steam punk ensemble for Windycon in Chicago...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

The curators in the Amsterdam Sex Museum were very confused when I took detailed notes on the underwear in one of the medieval woodcuts, instead of drooling over the full color modern pictures.

I have been a costumer for far too long...

You should message me if

You find me interesting, or if you have an interesting and challenging project that you need help on.
