My Self-Summary
There are a couple of things that I really notice about a guy. The first is manners. Having good manners is paramount. The second thing is spelling and grammar. Attention to detail says a lot about anyone, and meticulousness is an indicator of paying attention!
Let's throw structure and organization to the wind just for the moment as I continue to guide you down the chaotic mind of Me. Originally from Massachusetts, I'm currently located in New Haven for college. "Uni" has been a special time, one of learning, one of repeated and sometimes all-too familiar emotional roller coasters whose harnesses have not been properly tested, a time for learning on multiple levels. The most valuable things I have learned in the last few years include: patience, openness, and respect. They don't exactly teach that to you in class (and I'm not so sure that it's really possible for those values to be taught per se), but it's what I've ended up learning!
I'm continuing to fill up this box mostly because of my need to reach the next step in profile completion! I could have sworn that this thing has already exceeded 1000 words, but one can tap inner verbosity to satisfy a silly requirement, no? I work at a library, mostly. I also have two stints as a language tutor and peer counselor for LGBTQ people at school. All three of my jobs are enjoyable, and hey, the bills must be paid. Being at the library at night is peaceful: the architecture is reminiscent of a cathedral (actually... it pretty much is a cathedral), the lighting dim, the echoes of footsteps draw near as the prior comes to beckon us for evening prayer. Maybe that doesn't quite happen, but here and there we have a patron approach the circulation desk to make an inquiry or check out a book. I do my best to make conversation, smile, make eye contact, and generally give the impression that the library is a happy place with happy workers. There we go. If someone seems happy, that's sexy. Smile=sexy. Smile wrinkles=sexy. Smile crow's feet=sexy. Scowl=no thanks!

Perhaps it would be fair to include here that I have a few odd mental habits. First, the less weird one: I am constantly singing or making other forms of music in my head. That's just what I do. The music inside my mind sounds identical to whatever comes from the radio. Second, I unfortunately have the uncontrollable tendency to spell everything I hear and think in my head (I'm a stickler for good spelling), and arrange the letters into groups of three. I'm most pleased by words whose number of characters is perfectly divisible by three, and sentences whose letter count is divisible by three are also happy sentences. It started when I was thirteen, and it's gotten better over the years.
On a typical Friday night I am
warning I can be a pretty boring guy. I work so hard during the week that I like to relax without going crazy, so singing around the piano or just chatting are my ideas of great fun.
