My self-summary
I'm a first-year doctoral student at the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. With the education and training I receive here, I plan to be a clinical psychologist specializing in disorders of children and adolescents. My program is actually a PsyD program by the way, but that option does not exist for the "My details" section to the right. It's similar to a PhD but focuses more on clinical application than primary research.

I am also a classical singer (tenor). I train with Dr. Sandra Kungle and am a member of the Riverside Choral Society in New York City. In New Orleans, where I went to undergrad at Tulane University, I sang for two seasons as a chorus member with the New Orleans Opera.

Outside of psychology and singing, I have a wide variety of interests, including movies (especially independent, foreign and classic films), indie music, jazz, opera, literature, fine dining, plays (especially musicals), sports (especially golf and tennis for playing and football and basketball as a spectator), foreign language and intellectual conversation.
What I’m doing with my life
As I stated above, I am a clinical psychology student. In ten years, I see myself as a psychologist/therapist working in a community setting as part of a larger organization, directly assessing and treating patients, being involved in the organization's assessment and treatment plans, possibly participating in treatment research, advocating for psychology and mental health services in the community, and working to remove many of the stigmata associated with seeking and receiving mental health services.
In addition, I see myself advocating the exclusive use of empirically supported treatments and the expansion of research to develop more effective treatments.

Of course, I will continue to sing as well and will hopefully be much improved in my vocal technique and presentation.
I’m really good at
singing, trivia, theater, interpreting maps and directions, cheering people up, being funny
The first things people usually notice about me
My height and red hair and then my smile and laugh.

The six things I could never do without
1. Music
2. Books
3. My computer
4. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
5. Humor
6. My family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
too many things, but some include the following:

1. Where I want to live out most of my life and how I want to spend most of my days

2. Trivia

3. Will I ever find someone (maybe a friend, maybe a love interest) who is actually interested in the same diversions I am, so that when I want to go to a play or an art exhibit or an opera or an intriguing new restaurant I won't have to choose between going alone and not going, but I can go with this person? I have plenty of friends now, but most of the friends who are geographically close to me don't necessarily have the same cultural and intellectual interests.

4. Why are so many people such intellectual voids???? How can people live such shallow lives and be happy?
On a typical Friday night I am
sometimes out with friends, sometimes staying in and watching a Netflix movie or catching up on school work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I talk to myself and to my TV and computer sometimes.
