My self-summary
I am a shy, soft-spoken fellow. Yet, once the ice is broken, I am a goofy bastard who can get along with anyone. After enough time, it turns out I'm a goddamned sweetheart. Don't tell anyone though, or my street cred is ruined. I like beer and am unpretentious about it; bourbon and single-malt Scotch (not mixed together) make my pants feel funny. I occasionally play video games in my alone time. I don't mind isolation, just not forever (cuz that probably means I've died). I can be offensive, but I'm pretty much impossible to offend.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach high school percussion, and was in a touring band for almost four years. I'm always looking for new opportunities to get on stage or into the studio. I like the fact that I can make a little bit of a living teaching and playing music. No cubicle for me, thank you very much.
I’m really good at
Being photogenic?! Yeah right! Making strangers uncomfortable by being considerate. And swearing articulately when they are inconsiderate of aforementioned consideration. It's the simple things in life.
The first things people usually notice about me
My complexion. And my towering physique. Unfortunately, I went undrafted in the NBA yet again this year.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I just picked up Reza Aslan's newest offering as well as Dan Brown's, balancing fiction with non-fiction, know what I mean? I like Klosterman and Palahniuk and Vonnegut and the usual suspects required of us young Portlandia types. Basically, if it's got pages with words on it, I'll probably read it. If you have read Fifty Shades, I will mock you relentlessly.

There are few movies I haven't found at least slightly enjoyable. Lebowski, Eternal Sunshine, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the Trilogy, The Sandlot, Indiana Jones... There are many, many more that I really like--even the ones with Nic Cage in them.

Always Sunny, Arrested D, Parks and Rec, Angry Boys, Battlestar, and on and on. Duck Dynasty is not real to me.

Sam Cooke, the MoTown sound, Tower of Power, Iron Maiden, Toto, the Police, Bad Religion, Circa Survive, George Strait, the Bad Plus. To quote Russell Hammond from Almost Famous: "I dig... music. I'm on drugs!"

Food good. Go in mouth hole. Good soup. Hot. Aside from such monosyllabic ambivalence toward nourishment, olives are disgusting, and there is no argument to the contrary. I would eat fish over olives any day, and I don't really like fish.
The six things I could never do without
Quiet time (shut up, I can't see!)
Soccer, though I detest that word
Unsweetened black tea
Musical stuff
A reasonable amount of proper grammar
A hearty chuckle
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Reconciling what is actually happening in the world with what we've been conditioned to accept is happening. Something I saw/read on... you guessed it, Reddit. Rhythms and harmonies of whatever song or piece is currently playing. And lady-bits, they factor in there somewhere.
On a typical Friday night I am
Growed-up stuff, such as imbibing alcohol at a public house or a tavern, or at a friend's house with other friends throwing darts and having some laughs. I tend to avoid da club.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not from Portland, nor am I from Oregon.
