My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a pretty quiet individual, I very rarely drink and I don't smoke, I also rarely go to clubs and bars. I'm a bit of a hippie, I love working with people/kids and animals, but I also have my punky side as well. I'm also into tattoos as I have 8 and may plan a few more in the future, all have a very strong meaning to me. I also love teaching myself ASL and am doing a fairly good job at it, especially because it will be important once I start working with kids who are Autistic in a classroom. I am also a massive theatre fan, and am often in the city for shows, but I also love Central Park and other areas of the city and will go just to hang out in the park when I have the time during the summer.

(just a side note...I have Celiac disease and am very strict about following that diet. I can and do go out to restaurants often, I cook and do whatever it takes to prevent myself from being cross contaminated. If that's something you can't deal with, then I'm sorry. It seems to have gained a negative connotation and I will never understand why. I am not defined by living gluten free.)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at a local early childhood center for children with special needs. I have worked with 4 children 1:1, one with Autism, one with PDD and another little girl who is physically impaired, finished the school year as a 1:1 to a child with emotional/behavioral disorders in a self contained classroom of 3-4 year old children and am now working with a little girl with a rare genetic disorder. After school hours, I babysit 2 school aged kids. From there, I usually come home to start some homework or I go to a kickboxing class. But I am currently hoping to land a job working in either day hab or working as an ABA paraprofessional in place working at my preschool- at least until I can get my masters in either early childhood special ed or my BCBA or BCaBA (dusk certified in either special ed or social work).

I graduated with a BA in History May of 2012 and am taking classes part time right now to either put towards another Bachelor's or to bump my grades for grad school.

I also have done a lot of volunteer/charity work and recently produced 2 benefit concerts, my second one benefited a camp I used to volunteer for and was highly successful with turnout and Broadway stars coming out to help (a camp for the physically and cognitively disabled, specifically for the camp's building fund; 2 of the best years I've ever spent doing anything. Worked mostly with adults, but also children many of whom have Autism as well as various other cognitive delays)

I am deathly afraid of spiders and will go out of my way to avoid them or their general location. I may also completely avoid the room that I had just been in if there was even just one small spider that was on the wall across the room haha
