I am exothermic, noob-esk, and ridiculous.

My Self-Summary

Too much of a heathen for church, too much of a prude for the bar scene. I somehow wound up here.

I like the occasional trip out of the city. Be it camping or backpacking, forests or deserts, I like to go adventuring and see new areas. I've been to every major national park in the western US, including Denali in Alaska. If you're out an adventuring buddy, hit me up. I'm always down for anything new.

Note: despite what my award may say, I really don't have sex with cacti. I'm sorry if this is a deal breaker for you.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm really all over the place at this time. I'm a wannabe Engineer that is majoring in Chemistry. On top of that, I TA for the physics department. With that, I have no intent to specialize in any one field (I like them all).

I've been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity since mid summer. But with classes starting up I've scaled it back to a part time gig.

For the Fall semester I've been drafted to design and build a hippie powered land/water kinetic sculpture. Scary, I know.

I’m really good at

For someone who has been in school their whole life, I'm not about to claim any mastered skills. I believe, as long as you have the patience and have done the research you can take on anything.

In the end I'd like to think I'm still the apprentice to life's teachings.

The first things people usually notice about me

Physical:
Probably my height and long hair.

Personality:
I'm generally quiet if you don't know me, but I tend to be the talkative one in a group of cohorts. It really takes no time for me to connect with someone, but they generally need to be the one to initiate the conversation.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Text books and scientific journals make up the bulk of my reading (It comes with the academic territory). I'm slowly getting back into "normal" reading material. I've recently enjoyed Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle, and Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go.

Movies are blah (especially lately). However I do enjoy movies like: Goodwill Hunting, Proof, Pi, The Lost Boys, Matrix (series), Back to the Future, Equilibrium, SLC Punk, Blade Runner,

Music genres: EBM, industrial, punk, hardcore, classical, symphonic metal and dark wave from the US and Europe. Right now I'm really into Rotersand, and Covenant.

Food: I like pretty much anything; from Middle-Eastern to Japanese to Mexican it's all good. I like to cook when I have the time, all I need is a good recipe.

The six things I could never do without

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance
Fume hood
Beer mug filled with tea
My arch-nemesis, Zombie_Twatz
Obstacles/problems to solve
Some bad ass chick to help me take on the world

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The beauty of organized chaos; which is life as I know it.

On a typical Friday night I am

Listening to music while pondering/designing/developing.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

An old man once told me that you can't take on the world alone.
I didn't believe him and dismissed his guidance. But I now hope he turns out to be right.

You should message me if

Even though I don't have many serious conversations on here, I still enjoy random chats.

Though I do speak in "science nerd talk", I'm quite fluent in normal English as well. (:

Don't be shy; I don't bite.
