Just saw Samsara, it's great but not Baraka. The screening of
Baraka during the 70mm fest was probably the best thing I've seen
on screen, ever.
Before he retires I hope to catch a screening of Koyaanisqatsi with
live orchestra conducted by Phillip Glass.
Went to see PINA in 3D at the Cinerama and was really moved by it.
The soundtrack is amazing, and it's the best use of 3D I've seen in
Blade Runner, all the versions for different reasons. The
soundtrack is awesome as well. Vangelis is great.
Enjoy dancing to all kinds of music, theater, performance art,
modern dance, going to shows.
Music I enjoy includes but not limited to: Jazz (Monk, Trane,
Brubeck, Porter, etc) Miles Davis Sketches of Spain is essential,
Classical esp Phillip Glass, Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack, so good,
really into downtempo, acid jazz, rare groove, funk soul, Midnight
Hotline Rendezvous anyone? ambient, been listening to alot of M83
lately. Giorgio Moroder Kate Bush, Mandrill, Macaw, have you ever
heard the song "Morning after the rain"? Wow.
Caught Yacht & Hot Chip at Paramount and that was a super fun
sweaty good time.
Also Nikki & the Dove at Bumpershoot was a special treat.
Like Phillip K Dick, Bill Burroughs, Asimov, Orson Scott Card,
Douglas Adams, dont panic . . . Willam Gibson. Have a BBC radio
production of Neuromancer that's like watching a movie of the book
with your eyes closed. Sex at Dawn was a fun read. Deep reading
includes Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klien, Richard Dawkins, Brian Greene,
Zecharia Sitchin, and Richard Hoagland.
Playing Settlers of Catan. Not fond of the robber. Pit. Yahtzee.
Uno. 2 Hot.
