I always have a hard time writing about myself because I am never quite sure what to say...

I'm a nurse. I work in a nursing home / rehabilitation center for elderly patients and for patients who are recovering from illness/surgery. It is a decent job, but it is pretty demanding, and tends to leave me with little free time. I did cut back on my hours a little, which has helped. But I still feel as though I live there a lot of days....

I'm curious by nature so sometimes I ask people questions that aren't exactly... polite? I'm sorry if this happens to you and I offend you, really I'm not trying to offend, I just simply like to know everything about everything. I, of course, don't know everything, but I can dream, right?
I especially like to know about medical stuff, for obvious reasons. So don't start about a medical condition you or someone you know has unless you are prepared to talk about it for an hour. lol. Or not, I don't get offended when people won't answer my questions or tell me to shut up.

I enjoy television, movies, playing and/or chatting on the computer, texting, hanging out with friends, music, Karaoke, meeting new people, goofing around, games, that includes board games and video games (I haven't done much of either lately due to not having anyone to play with, and the fact that I don't personally own any video games :p) and plenty of other things... If you want specifics, once again, just ask :)

I've been told I have a great sense of humor, and a wonderful ability to make people laugh. I apparently have a unique way of saying things that ends up to be fairly humerous a lot of the time... I've also been told that simply me laughing can cheer people up and make them laugh along with me. Sometimes I wonder if people are lying..

I am a cautious driver, so cautious that it apparently scares people! I'm not sure how that even happens! LOL. I have a horrible sense of direction and have actually driven around lost and ran out of gas! Haha.

Oh, and I really really like to cuddle :).

Someone pointed out to me the other day that I seem to like 'nerdy' guys. It's funny because some other people around me thought that it was actually an insult. But it wasn't meant that way, because there's nothing wrong with nerdy guys. And here's a little secret: she was right :p, I usually do end up going out with guys that are kind of nerdy. It's ok if you aren't, though. I'm open minded.

I'm tired of lies and excuses. I hate dishonesty, I have very little patience for it. I'd rather hear the hard truth than a pretty little lie any day. And don't play games with me, I don't have much patience for that either.

I have also been told multiple times that there is no one else remotely like me in the world. I hope that is really true. I'd hate to be like anyone else.

I graduated in 2008 with my Nursing Diploma (LPN). I am currently doing a self-study program in attempt to get my Associate's degree (RN), as well as doing some anytime/anywhere classes through Kirkwood to get a jump-start on a Bachelor's degree. I really do plan to get a Master's degree someday. I would like to become a nurse practitioner or physician's assistant, but it's quite a long road to get from here to there. I've always been good at school, but don't particularly like it that much and I have trouble staying focused when I have so much else going on in my life.
So for now, I am just being the best nurse and single mom that I can be, and looking for new friends, and the possibly of more. I'm also always on the lookout for fun people to e-mail back and forth with or talk to on instant messenger. I do spend some time online when I can and enjoy talking to people.

I really would like to find that special someone someday :).

I try to be good at whatever I attempt :) I have been told I am good at listening, but I am also a talker. I am also very good at helping people, it is what I like to do. This is why I am a nurse. Oh, and I'm fairly intelligent, so hopefully that makes me good at the school related things that I am doing. Problem solving. I'm pretty good at solving problems too, I tend to be a pretty creative thinker, at least sometimes. Creativity is awesome, and I fear that I'm losing some of the creativity that I used to have... Some people say that I'm good at singing, but once again, I seriously think that people lie about such things. My son likes my singing, though, so I suppose it can't be too awful bad.

My pretty blue eyes and big smile. And my wealth of personality. Oh, and my silly sense of humor :) And, of course, everyone also notices that I am fairly smart and can carry on an intelligent conversation.

Also, I tend to be fairly nervous/shy when speaking to someone the first time face-to-face, and I'm sure that's pretty noticeable as well. But... When I get to know people I get a lot less nervous, more friendly, more comfortable, and more sarcastic. And I can be a big-time flirt if I like you.

And yes, I am, what I refer to as "soft around the edges." Meaning, I guess, that I am what some people would refer to as "chubby" or something of that nature. If you have a problem with that then I guess you're missing out, shallowness is extremely overrated. After all, you can't judge a book by its cover, and in the same way you can't tell all about a person until you take a deeper look and see who they really are.

Books: Stephen King, John Grisham, and Piers Anthony, just to name a few. I really wish I actually had time to read these days.
Movies: I like chick flicks, comedies, and horror movies.
Music: Not really picky, I just listen to whatever is on the radio.
Food: I like food :). Some of my favorites are chocolate, ice cream, pizza, and potato salad. :D. Wow, that's all really healthy... I'm a little bit of a picky eater, but not really. And I'll try pretty much anything once..

My son. Love. My computer. Friends and family. Food, water, shelter, oxygen. Phone. Personal hygiene items.

(and yes I know that's more than 6, deal with it)

The future and what it may hold. The irony in how life plays out, and the way I often find myself in places/situations that I never though I'd be in. And wondering what life has in store for me since it has so far not gone anywhere close to any kind of plan that I had made.

Sometimes I find myself wondering if there is that special person out there for me... And what is taking him so long to stumble into my life :). I'm not really that impatient, though, I take things one day at a time, and know that we'll find each other someday, if it's meant to be...

I know who and what I am. I also know what I want and where I'm going. I'm not exactly sure when or how I am going to get there, but I will get there someday.

At home, playing with my son. Or watching TV or playing/chatting on my computer. I work every other weekend, so every-other Friday night I'm in bed early, because I have to get up before 5am to get to work on time.
I do go out once in awhile, but only if I have someone interesting to go out with, and I'm not really into the whole bar scene.
Going out can be a lot of fun, but typically I think that a fun night in can often beat the socks off going out.

Ask me what you would like to know, I'm pretty much an open book.

You are interested, want to know more, or just want to chat :) And if you are more interested in what is on the inside rather than what is on the outside, as I really don't get along with shallow people.
If you are looking for someone to chat with and don't mind if I go a few days without talking to you, it doesn't mean I dislike you or have become uninterested in talking with you, it simply means that my life is crazy, and sometimes I fall asleep before 8pm...

I'm friendly enough and I don't bite.... hard :-p
