My self-summary
I am the last scion of an interdimensional race of psychic alien conquerors, placed here on this wretched terran strata to hide from the etherhounds of my wicked uncle, Amon Regis Set.

I enjoy an eclectic selection of music and beers.

I am the terror, that flaps, and in the night.

What I’m doing with my life
Back home in the woods of Rogers Park, by the Jarvis stop. Probably for a limited time but who knows.

I work at a place on the southside doing tech support on various high end surge protectors and backup battery devices. The commute is murder and the work is rote and mechanical tedium but it keeps a roof over my head so I can't complain that much.

I've lately become obsessed with finding my fortune doing something that isn't the above, something that involves working with my hands that would get me a measure of satisfaction. Maybe a professional brewmaster? Those seem like pretty chill dudes who take pride in their work.

I’m really good at
The Irish half of me allows me to spin bullshit at twice the rate and quantity as any other downtrodden ethnicity on the planet Earth.

The first things people usually notice about me
They assume I have no sense of humor but that isn't really true. It's just so incredibly dry and I try to be so honest about everything that it usually takes a short while to get on my specific wavelength. If you can last 5 minutes with me then I'll be a friend for life. If not, then, well, it's your loss.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(a) Cryptonomicon by [Neal Stephenson], UBiK by Philip K Dick, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, The Invisibles by Grant Morrison, The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis, Casanova by Matt Fraction, and the Fourth World Omnibus by Jack Kirby.

I was greatly relieved to begin reading Kurt Vonnegut and discover that he has most of the same barbed bastard curmudgeonly opinions as I tend to, wrapped up in gentle/ruthless humor.

I'm currently reading Homicide: A Life In The Killing Streets by David Simon and it's showing me that killing someone and then dropping their body in an alley is really easy to get away with so long as no one saw you or you have no connection to the victim.

(b) 12 Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Le Pacte des Loups, Big Trouble in Little China, Fist of Legend, Hard Boiled, The Good The Bad and the Ugly, Oldboy, Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension, Robocop, Grosse Point Blank, and Idiocracy.

(c) Hip hop and stoner metal.

(d) I will generally eat anything but I've had Ethiopian at three different places and it didn't do much for me.

I'm a big fan of police procedurals that actually show something resembling procedure like the vanilla Law and Order, Homicide: Life on the Street, and The Wire. I'm also a sucker for any late night FX series like Sons of Anarchy, The Shield, or Justified. The 'The following program contains Graphic Violence, Strong Language and Brief Nudity' disclaimer at the beginning if always a delight. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia consistently amazes me with just how far it can push things and still have me watching it.

I shockingly also am really into Doctor Who (watched it on PBS when I was a kid, loving the Matt Smith season so far) and Fringe.

I'm not Jesus Christ. Recent circumstances and comically horrendous mishaps have caused me to accept that.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18-99
  • Near me
  • For new friends, activity partners
You should message me if
I like making music mixes for people but I tend to fall into a sort of creative stalemate in which I get wrapped up in making them thematically/genre consistent so thus they never actually materialize.

I'm trying out a few different things. A lot of my friends have given up on the whole 'enjoying the prime of their fucking lives in the greatest city in the world) and surrendered to moving out to the suburbs for cohabitation and slow decay in front of their giant televisions with the meek and pathetic declaration that a place like Schaumburg has all the same stuff as Chicago, they just pay less for more space. I have no use for that attitude.

So really I'm looking for friends as well as lovers as I want to cast a wide net for a citywide social network of like minded weird people. I've been feeling a bit creatively starved of late and would love to meet a muse of the verbal arts to help me with/inspire my autobiographical science fiction writing.

As far as relationships go, I'm really attracted to confident and imaginative lady of action in the Emma Peel vein, who I won't take for granted as she would be constantly challenging my megalomania with dry humor and wit.
