Happy New Year

Well it's officially December 31, 2007 the last day of the year. Goodbye 2007 and hello 2008. I'm looking forward to starting a new year to be honest, this one hasn't been too bad but it's really been nothing to write home about. I've been on the up and down rollercoaster of life for awhile now, almost looking for it to even out soon. Mostly i've been on the down part lately but not trying to dwell on that and hoping to take it up a notch in the new year. It seems to me that everyone looks at a new year as fresh start, a clean slate. A new chance to get things right this time but then at the end of the year they're right back to where they started from looking for another fresh start or clean slate. I'm determined to make things happen this year. I've realized that I'm in control of my own destiny and I have the power to make things better or to let them go on and get worse. I'm done with letting things just fly by me. I'm gonna start taking chances and getting my shit together. My birthday is coming up in February and hopefully by then I'll have something really kick ass to celebrate. That's my first order of business. Make every day count and at least by February have something to celebrate other than getting another year older.

On a brighter note I hope everyone has a kick ass New Year's, be safe, be happy and enjoy the few remaining moments you have left in 2007. Make them something to remember!!!

Laterz!

I Am Legend

So I just got back from seeing the movie 'I Am Legend' and for those of you who have not seen it but want to then don't read any further because I'm sure I'll spoil you. After seeing this movie and the potential end of the world scenario that it presents I'm convinced, this is how the world is going to end. It will not be by any aliens coming to earth and taking over or God sending asteroids or comets are way, but we are going to destroy it ourself. I think we are well on our way to that as well. I don't mean to sound down about everything but this is the kind of thinking a movie like this promotes. Honestly it was a good movie, not one I'd see again or even get on dvd because honestly it was too depressing and realistic to watch multiple times, but it was good. Will Smith did an excellent job as always because for most of the movie he only had a dog as a co-star and what an excellent co-star at that. Academy Awards for dogs.....I think that's the next step.

Well, it seems that Hollywood is really on its way to trying to depict more realistic scenarios for the end of the world in their films and while they are still entertaining I find it to be a little morbid. Actually most people will probably go to this movie and come out thinking, "Wow, a 200 million 28 weeks later, how original". Actually, that's what I thought a little bit. Not really sure where I was going with this ramble but felt the need to ramble on a little bit about the movie. Since I haven't posted any journal entries in a while I thought this was as good a place as any to start.

Alas, now I'm off to bed but before that I think I'll settle in with a little Pirates of The Caribbean. Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow definitely ought to cheer me up a bit!!!
