I am contemplative, gleeful, and good to have around.

My Self-Summary

Hi! i like doing stuff, and making the most of my time. Currently learning how to make plans which involve maximizing my ability to enjoy living in the moment. Sometimes i see the big picture so much that i trip over what's right in front of me. But now getting a wee bit burned out from rushing around too much... but no worries! Once more into the breach, lasers flaring and thunderbolts blaring!

i like the element of surprise, dueling, teaching, building talismans and amulets, walking around (and around and around), talking to the wind, learning, and helping people.

What I’m doing with my life

i'm a ninja!

ok seriously, now.

trying to finish off grad school, paying my bills by doing various community work. Most of the time, that translates to being a wandering storyteller, teacher, and all-around generic social kung fu man.

I’m really good at

puns! whee!
telling and acting out stories.
totally unfair yet entertaining witticisms.
listening to people.
inspiring hope.
feeding spirits.
punching stuff.
falling off bikes.
building bridges (and installing trolls under them).

The first things people usually notice about me

i laugh and talk a lot OR

i'm super quiet and thoughtful OR

amulets, goggles, bright Hawaiian shirt, laser pistol and mask

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

off the top of my head, there is a scalp. accursed rumination, you interrupt the syntax of this big empty space of non-text!

Musashi - Eiji Yoshikawa
Stoner - John Williams
Storycrafting - Paul Darcy Boles
The Truth - Terry Pratchett
Outlaws of the Marsh - Shi Nai-An
The Book of Sand - Jorge Luis Borges
Ilium - Dan Simmons
Shamans Through Time - Jeremy Narby
Taming the Wind of Desire: Psychology, Medicine and Aesthetics in Malay Shamanism - Carol Laderman
The Anthropology of Performance - Victor Turner
Starman (comic books) - James Robinson
Time and the Gods - Lord Dunsany

lotsa other stuff. mostly mythology, comics, fantasy, science fiction, detective novels - and also non-fiction: anthropology, occult, geography, history, politics, philosophy, and SCIENCE. preferably with goggles and jetpacks.

Movies:

Conan the Barbarian
hong kong movies of the 80s and 90s.
Highlander
anime with spirits, trees, robots, and SHOUTING

Music:
Rock, grunge, metal mostly.. Some pagan/ tribal-ish stuff too, Chinese pop/rock - Wu Bai, Power Station, Beyond... Game/ Anime/ Movie Soundtracks and Scores

Food:
gnomes! gnome gnome gnome!

The six things I could never do without

too many to count la, why count?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

my loved ones. my community. spirits. giant robots. making things better for people. nature. how to get more cash and resources to do the things i want to do, so i can make things better. getting distracted. thesis that is NOT YET DONE.

On a typical Friday night I am

talking to people, telling them stories and writing poetry/ letters on demand, and trying to figure out more ways to punch demons.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

i am possibly biploa!

(and i spell badly)

You should message me if

you feel compelled to hunt down the despicable legions of the koko krunch koala koalition klan.
