My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a down-to-earth woman who is at a place of peace. I enjoy intimate social gatherings, museums, and book readings. I love love love beach views and water activities; I really want to try bodyboarding. I am an avid foodie, wine and beer snob, and love a good steak-- I am more carnivorous than human. I'm a Socialist.

I'm looking to meet engaging, politically aware, friendly people from all walks of life. I'm a lifelong logophile and really enjoy intellectually stimulating, witty banter.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a PhD in Film+TV Studies-- basically, I watch movies all day and think about what they mean. Not too shabby.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, and making people feel at ease.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile-- I smile a lot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm an unabashed pop culture geek. The Godfather is my all-time favorite movie-- parts I and II are, in my mind, a coagulated blob of cinematic perfection. (Part III is pop culture's rightfully shunned bastard child.)

I'm a stand-up comedy addict; love love love the comedy styles of Louis CK, Ricky Gervais, and Chris Rock.

My TV favorites are tied among Mad Men, Burn Notice, and the Golden Girls. I'm also into It's Always Sunny in Phila-- THAT'S how you make people laugh using the teevee machine.

I like all kinds of music. LOVE old school R&B (from back in a bygone era where music could make you *feel*; Stevie Wonder and Stephanie Mills are among my favorite old school artists). I like some modern-ish R&B, e.g., Mary J, Faith Evans, Robin Thicke. I'm also with all things OutKast. During a semester in the UK some years ago, I got hooked on Brit pop; I bought up everything from Craig David to Artful Dodger to -- I'm only slightly ashamed to admit-- even Westlife and S Club 7 (I was young and impressionable!).

I'm a meat and potatoes gal at heart. I love beer and a burger. I was born with an unnatural bloodlust for pizza. Love good Indian, Chinese, and Mexican food (which-- does this alien thing exist in LA? I keep hoping but I ain't found it...). I also approve heartily of crisp bacon.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
As in, if I were stranded on some desert island (somehow w/electricity)? I would take (or miss severely): my laptop. TV. Bite size Kit Kat candy bars. Pictures of my loved ones. Pizza. And... Did I already say laptop?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Humanity. Love. Funny things. Fast cars. My purpose.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Having end of week de-stress dinner and drinks with a friend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a lifelong Michael Jackson fanatic. I like to act out the scene at the very beginning of the Thriller video, the exchange where Michael confesses to his little girlfriend that he's "not like other guys."
