My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Gretzky said it best, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." So this is me, putting myself out there.

I'm an independent and driven person with a bit of a Type A personality. Some people mistake that for being buttoned-up or stuffy but given the right company, I'm always up for a good time. I'm looking for someone to help me take life a little less seriously and most of all someone who compliments who I am.

I'm a born and bred Columbian (wait, that doesn't sound right)... Columbusite? Anyway, I've lived in Columbus my whole life with the exception of a few years spent in Southeastern Ohio for work. I enjoy what Columbus has to offer including its proximity to Macys, abundance of dive bars, and diverse parks system. That's not to say I spend all of my time at any of those three places (although that wouldn't be a terrible way to kill a day). I also enjoy reading, catching up on Netflix, and playing with my adorable pooch (completely unbiased).

As a teacher, I find it easy to get wrapped up in work but I try not to let my job consume my personal life. I enjoy spending time with my family and being the "dependable one" for them whether they ask for it or not. I'm a caring person and I need to know that my actions have a positive impact on others, even if it's simply in the form of a smile. I like wit and a dry sense of humor. To me, the funniest lines are when you're not even trying.

Full disclosure, I am not a domestic goddess. My Pinterest board is bleak compared to the average for my demographics but I'm working on learning to cook (if you consider using a crockpot cooking). Hiking is my favorite form of exercise, though I'm dipping my toes in the running scene. I suppose what I'm saying is if you're looking for a girl who will whip up a gourmet dinner after running a monthly marathon, you should keep looking. However, if picking up pizza and 6-pack on the way home from a day of hiking in the woods sounds ideal, we just might get along.

If you've made it this far, hopefully you're wondering if you fit the bill. I'm looking for someone who is driven personally and professionally with a great sense of self. It would also be nice if we shared some common interests, not that it isn't also nice to have differences. Also, you must be willing to smile, a lot. Did I just describe you?

Movies: Gone With the Wind, Rocky, Bull Durham, National Lampoon's Summer Vacation

Television: Friends, Nashville, Sons of Anarchy, Grey's Anatomy

Music: Country (mostly old but some new), Classic Rock, some alternative. Secretly I love 90's rap, especially if I'm working out or running late.

Books: Into the Wild, Of Mice and Men, The Wizard of Oz, The Last Boy
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My dog, Bailey 2. My family (I think I should get to lump them together as one "thing") 3. Money 4. My phone (besides the basic, phones allow for books, videos, and Internet) 5. Toothpaste 6. My wardrobe
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Work. I'll admit it. I can be a bit of a workaholic at time. I'm still learning to balance work and keep it separate from my personal life. If you work in a service profession like mine, it's easy to let your thoughts be consumed by the impact you're making and whether you're doing enough.
