My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Self descriptions tend to come off as either boring or insane. I, like most people, really am somewhere in the middle. I don't go out every single day to an art show followed by local music followed by experimental theater, a few bar stops, and wrapped up with a kicking after party/illegal rave. I do however get out of the house and I do have adventures, just generally not with everything all at once.

All this is to say, that I am probably pretty much like you, imperfect, and a bit terrified by this whole online dating thing that involves describing myself to people who will, mostly, find me too geeky or not geeky enough, or otherwise failing some shibboleth or another. (I admit to really liking the word shibboleth, if not the rather bloody source, and yeah that probably tells you a fair bit about the too geeky/not geeky enough breakdown). Yet here we are, and things will probably be ok regardless.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at web programming, and I honestly enjoy it. I also do various crafts, classes, cults, and such not because free time etc.

I'm trying my hand at machine sewing, but it is hard as there are no acceptable patterns for men (unless one wants to sew an 80s suit jacket), and so few people can sew anymore. Still one can save a bundle on cat toys, even if one lacks any skill.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am a bit of a magpie of knowledge. Which means I tend to actually really like conversations about other people's work, and day to day experience. Just expect little bits of what you told me about your job, hobbies, and interests to be mentioned years later in some dusty place on the other side of the world. Which honestly should make you feel kinda awesome.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Generally my height I suppose?

This question is definitionally (yes that is a real word) superficial.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books.... Gilead , Housekeeping (not actually what you think), Rabbit Run, Revolutionary Road, The Uglies Trilogy (+1 now I guess), Jane Eyre (actually all the Bronte sisters), Snow, A Song Of Ice And Fire, books by Sedaris, anything by Camus plus many many more. With non fiction, Cog sci stuff like Godel Escher Bach, and Dennet, and I have an odd fascination with consumer history (i.e. the history/sociology of the consuming masses, (which is for heteronormative reasons sometimes categorized as Women's History, I'd list the titles but they are lengthy and foreign to most))/

Movies... Rabbit proof fence, Citizen Kane, Wizard of Oz, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Scotland, PA , Kamikaze Girls, My Dinner with Andre plus more (even some that aren't so artily pretentious)

Television, Mad Men, Archer, Party Down, Always Sunny in Philadelphia,Sherlock, Breaking bad, Doctor Who, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Rick and Morty and other overproduced things

Music, Ummm right now... First Aid Kit, Danny Brown, Amanda Palmer, Girls Aloud, Kitty Pride, Nick Cave, of Montreal, Regina Spektor, Robyn, Lorde, Skylar Grey, Lady Gaga, Operator Please, Lenka, Lene Lovich, Aloe Blacc plus quite possibly whatever you like, assuming you like interesting things.

Food... Turkish Tea, Moroccan Mint Tea, the more delicate of the desserts, the less delicate of the desserts. Oh and I am technically a vegetarian, but of the most uncaring type (ovolacto), and don't get into hard core food power issues. Also I bake like a fiend.

As for websites (sorry the lack of new media options offends me) reddit I was once a goon but am no longer.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Shiny things
More shiny things
Kindle full to the brim
People to marvel at
Tangerines (So cheap and juicy)
My Cat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I generally think about the process of how people think, which is probably a good thing as it prevents me from thinking about how people are thinking about me in particular.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Exploring matters of deep philosophy and cant (sometimes even of the cant of Kant). Most people just see me out, and asking random people odd questions. Which is exactly what the contemporary townsfolk thought of the classical Greek philosophers; I just am not as good.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'll occasionally go out in bunny ears or other silly costumes on non halloween days, because... boredom.
