My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit...or wait, I think that's a Journey song. Hmm, lets see. Well I'm from the Detroit area originally.

I headed south and called Atlanta home for about 4 years for grad school and then work. And yes I now often say y'all. I do a pretty mean southern accent too. Though I do loads of accents, cause I'm goofy like that. I can also do a pretty mean Mickey Mouse impression. Wait, where was I?... A work promotion then brought me back to the Midwest and to Cincinnati were I spent a solid 7 months or so, no knock on Cincy it's a great town and I miss it. Now work has brought me back "home." I use quotes cause I now am fortunate enough to consider three places like home because of my experiences and time there. Plus home is where the heart is or so they say and, well that's in my chest.

I'm fairly laid back. Sweet, funny, witty, smart, you know, swell stuff like that, at least I hope. I can be a bit shy sometimes. I'm a bit nerdy. I'm left handed, am almost always bearded, unless I'm not and always wear glasses, unless I'm sleeping or showering or swimming, cause who wears glasses during those things. I like to cook and I'm not half bad, I mean I'm not gonna go pro or anything but I can make a nice dinner, breakfast or lunch. I have 2 dogs, they're swell too, but they will jump up on you and one is pony sized but thinks he's a tiny dancer. Seriously they will jump on you. Don't take it personally, they're dogs, they mean well.

things I like: art, music, movies, hikes, nature, ice cream, hanging out with good people, good conversations, old school Nintendo games, photography, cooking, eating, cooking shows, sports, bourbon, laughing, sleeping, photos of baby animals, naps, jokes, Atlanta, the south, Cincy, travel.

Finding someone that likes some of those things as well would be neat. Someone who has a good idea of what they want.

I think every great romance needs two things, chemistry and timing. And bacon doesn't hurt.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working a lot. Readjusting to being back in Michigan. Plotting where I go next, perhaps. I need to use the word plotting more, seriously, it sounds awesome to say you're plotting. Also it sounds mildly evil. I'm not evil. For the record. Sleeping, though often not enough. Trying to do things better, often times failing. Hanging out with my dogs. Watching movies. Taking walks. Using a camera, phone or of the DSLR variety or *gasp* film. Looking at stuff. I look at a lot of stuff. I'm actually probably looking at stuff now. So are you. OMG we're twinsies. Wait no, we're not. Nevermind. You're still cool though.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Photography, sleeping in, making toast, being a nice guy, stuff like that.

Also I can actually make more than a mean piece of toast, though at the moment I don't even have a toaster, so if you want toast, you might be out of luck for now. But if you dig a fella that can cook, well hi.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The spectacles? The beard? Honestly, not a clue, perhaps you can let me know. I hear I have nice eyes too. Once someone told me I had nice eye brows, I didn't know how to respond to that, so I didn't.

Also I often get the "you look like someone...." so no, it's not me and I don't know them, but tell them I said hey.

I've also had loads of folks tell me I look like Edward Norton, including a 70 something woman while I was working. I don't see it, but I'll take it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies - The Big Sleep, Casablanca, Good Will Hunting, Life is Beautiful, Chung King Express, anything by Wes Anderson, Chasing Amy, The Fox and the Hound is the best Disney movie ever, and many many more, shall we watch one?

Music: I like it. Specifically: The Pernice Brother (or really anything with Joe Pernice), Josh Ritter never fails to put a smile on my face and if you haven't seen him live you've haven't seen Shakespeare the way it was meant to be done, Elliott Smith is my spirit animal, The National, The Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, The Damnwells (if you've heard of them we're now best friends), Bon Iver, Angus and Julia Stone, Wilco, Elbow, Titus Andronicus, Neutral Milk Hotel (want to go see them with me?), Otis Redding, Van Morrison (I saw him in concert in Paris, you should be jealous, I'll tell you about it though, so it's okay), The Head and the Heart, The Civil Wars (I also like the actual Civil War, not that it happened, just the history and such), The White Stripes, Frontier Ruckus, Spoon, James Vicent McMorrow, Gregory Alan Isakov, Keaton Henson, just to name a few. If you like most of that we'll get along swimmingly (the backstroke).

I watch TV sometimes. Namely How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, Sports Night, The West Wing, Newsroom, basically anything Aaron Sorkin. Arrested Development, Castle, The Simpsons, 30 Rock, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Top Chef, Cuttroat Kitchen, Hell's Kitchen, almost anything involving cooking food really. Pushing Daisies, Dexter (though I haven't finished it yet cause I've gotten side tracked by too many things). Cheers, Deadwood, The League, Archer. That should give you a fine sampling of my taste.

Food is good, do you have any for me? Cause I won't lie, I'm kinda hungry after writing all that.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sleep, my dogs, art, friends, other good things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Let's recap. I'm an artist, a geek, a bit of an introvert, left handed, bearded, and I smell good (That last one has nothing to do with anything, I just thought you should know), so basically I spend a lot of time thinking about everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably doing one or more of the following:
Work, hanging out, watching tv/movies, at a baseball game, a bar, shooting pool, singing to my dogs, time traveling or something else.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Bacon

It tickles your fancy or you'd like to get to know me better or you're bored or any other reason you can think of.

You take pleasure in the work of Aaron Sorkin. We have similar music tastes. You're awesome. You like dogs. You think I'm swell (I am).

Or you wanna hit up the zoo. I have a year pass, so I'm always down for a visit.

Who knows, I can't see into the future damnit.
