New to the Montclair area and looking to make new friends.

We're progressive/liberal, New York Times reading atheists. I'm bi and used to do a lot of LGBT activism. She's very politically aware and smart. While we have many friends that are spiritual, we aren't and that's ok.

We live in NJ; I work in NYC (commute by train) she works nearby.

I'm a computer system administrator by trade, author by hobby (4 books published), and I love to travel. I commute into NYC for work. I also love Guitar Hero even though I'm not good at it.

According to the OkCupid Persona Test (http://www.okcupid.com/oktest3), I am "The Bachelor (DGSM)" who should seek out The Dirty Little Secret (DGSM), The Intern (DGSD) and AVOID the Wild Rose (RBLD).

We love to go out to the movies, fine and not-so-fine dining, and general hanging out.

Besides work? I travel US/Europe/Australia to speak at conferences, and I'm working on a new book.

Trying to increase these things: live concerts, movies in the theater, getting out of the house.

If someone hasn't seen me in a while they are surprised at how much weight I've lost.

Favorite food: Sushi, Italian, all asian except Thai, and anything I haven't tried before.

Music: I love the 80s! ...plus Chill, Trance, Fatboy Slim, Joe Jackson, TMBG, many others). There is very little rock/modern music I don't like, though I do prefer music with good lyrics.

Books: I don't have time to read, I'm too busy writing :-)

I also like science fiction films, action films, comedies, Pixar's entire catalog, Quentin Tarantino, Oceans 11, Bull Durham (the only sports movie I really liked). The Muppet Movie (the original), "Giant" (classic). Favorite movies are "Go", "Star Wars: ROTJ", and "Willy Wonka".

Computer stuff: Perl more than Python. FreeBSD more than Linux. Any Unix more than Windows. Mac laptops over all others.
