I find the humor in everything, work hard, am generous with my friends and family, And not afraid to try new things. I am from New Jersey, lived in the Austin area for 6 years, went back home for school and things have been going swimmingly since then. I excelled in my program, got to spend a year with National Geographic during that time, worked in New York for a while and just got a great job in Austin. I wasn't targeting coming back here as my next move but I'm very excited to see what happens.

I often watch the History Channel and get frustrated because they don't realize that it wasn't ancient aliens but rather ancient deep sea divers.

I'm doing exactly what I want to do. I am a geographic information scientist, which means that I work with maps all day. I just got a fantastic job in Austin that allows me some comfort and a great opportunity to work in mapping.

With my career locked up my free time is spent with outdoor activities such as running, cycling and climbing. Can't wait to find out what else I will be doing here in Austin.

I often see things in ways that no one else does. I enjoy and feel competent at feats of strength (running, sports, hiking for miles), as well as with games that require exhausting intellectual preparation (bingo).

Finally, I can dance, and I'm not afraid to get down on the dance floor to shake my "sweet thang". In fact, for my sister's wedding I rehearsed and performed Napoleon Dynamite's dance at the finale of the movie VERBATIM, and can still recall each move. The crowd went wild.

The stuntman wearing the same outfit as me who makes a stunning and often dangerous entrance. Then I show up with the dialogue and the awesome never stops.

Books: All genres. Short Stories usually work best for me. I also read quite a bit of non-fiction. Economics, mathematical theory, evolution, and sociology.

Music/movie: Talking Heads ,"Live in Rome" (1980). It is unbelievable. I enjoy lots of things but this is the best example of music that moves me. The best example of a movie is Once upon a Time in the West.

Food: I recently read about dungeoness crab. I am on a minor, minor quest to eat it.

Curiosity, Laughter, a challenge, good company. The rest is gravy.

Getting people together for a game night. I need to find more people who play games.

I'll tell you what I did my first Friday back in Austin. I went to the Alamo Drafthouse for the 80s sing a long. It was a blast. I sang and danced and was a total goof with the glow sticks they handed out and getting into whatever song they played. On the ride home

I had a good laugh thinking about how half the songs had a theme where the male singers thought the women they encountered were too sexually aggressive. They preferred slower relationships where the women would be more chaste and be more considerate of their feelings. Meanwhile the female protagonists couldn't get things on fast enough. That would make for a fun sociology paper. Maybe I should look to see if one exists.

I was on the Shippensburg University cheerleading team and could once do a mean backflip. It's been years since I've done it, but if required, I could probably do one again.

What interests me is a great story teller who can make me laugh and get along with people - not all people, but just the people we decide are worthy of our attention. I want to be able to brag about you as much as you brag about me.
