My self-summary
Good guy here looking for friends and a real relationship.

I feel like I'm waking up to all life can be which is a lot more fun than working as much as I used to. I teach yoga in the evenings and write by day. It's a pretty sweet life!

I take good care of myself and hope that my partner will as well. I'm in good shape, fit, strong, but not a Greek god, or a Roman one either. :) My partner doesn't need to be a Greek god either, just comfortable in his own skin.

My passions:
*traveling, especially internationally
*stories, whether they come through movies, books, music, or around a dinner table or over a cup of coffee/tea or stronger
*meditation, yoga, tai chi - discovering a little more each day what this body can do
*meeting new people and getting a glimpse of the world through their eyes
*writing stories
*laughing at too many things
What I’m doing with my life
Living! I've been pretty career-oriented the past fifteen years of my life. Now beginning to explore life beyond work more avidly. Working so hard for so long made me wonder where these fifteen years have gone, though I wouldn't change them for anything. So join me on some trips, near and far. There's a whole world out there!
I’m really good at
appreciating beauty . . . in nature, art, music, people, writing, stories. Nothing better than a good story!
The first things people usually notice about me
I usually have a smile on my face and love a good joke to help put one there. I'm in good shape and people usually think I am much younger than I am -- all that yoga makes us younger every day. People tell me I have a calming influence when they are around me. Maybe because I'm falling asleep on them . . . nah, just kidding.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Big movie fan, especially in the winter. Recent favorite is Saving Mr. Banks - loved how that story was layered. Pleasantly surprised by Catching Fire - I skipped The Hunger Games when it was first out. But loved the new one so much I read the books, and loved the ending of the last one. Still has me thinking . . . Also, don't know what it is but I absolutely love movies about surfing and of course the crazier stuff at the Esquire or Mariemont or Little Art Theater in Yellow Springs. Recently saw The Wolf of Wall St. - what are we doing to ourselves!?!

I enjoy reading and exploring things and ideas. Funniest book I've ever read is A Walk in the Woods (Bryson - had to throw the book down on the ground I was laughing so hard), most thought-provoking is Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (Pirsig), most inspiring is The Legend of Bagger Vance (though the movie made me scream it was so awful). Intrigued by Jungian writer Marion Woodman. Re-learning ancient/biblical Hebrew for fun.

Musically, I'm a big fan of WNKU and their indie music vibe. Best concert in the past year was The Avett Brothers, not my usual sound but a great show. Tedeschi Trucks Band, Over the Rhine, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Old Crow Medicine Show, Good Old War, Brett Dennen, classic rock still has a place in my heart, Dave Matthews Band's "Under the Table and Dreaming," older Jack Johnson, and on and on.

Don't watch much TV because I don't own one. I save it all for the movie theater.

Food?! There's not enough room here to write about it. :)
The six things I could never do without
people, especially my family
exploring new cultures
good food with good stories
a good massage - both giving and receiving
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I want to go on my next trip. Funny stories. What the world would be like if we slowed down and saw--really saw--the person in front of us. What my lover and I will be like when we're in our 80's or 90's.
On a typical Friday night I am
sometimes out for drinks, sometimes at a movie or concert or play, sometimes happy just to be at home with a nice dinner and friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask, and I'll probably tell you anything and everything. I can be pretty quiet, but get me to tell a story and suddenly the extrovert comes out of me!
