My self-summary
I feel like a bit of paradox. I'm a yogi who tries to care deeply for this body that carries me through this life, who also happens to love beer! I'm a minimalist at heart who has a serious gear addiction. Cook mostly vegatarian but nothing beats a great burger and fries ...you get the idea.
I am also deep thinking and will always look for ways to connect with you. I will find your idiosyncrasies endearing. If I hold your heart I will do so mindfuly and with great tenderness.
What I’m doing with my life
As for what I'm doing with my life it is really quite simple. Trying to find joy in everyday. Love to move! yoga, dancing, riding my cruiser and learning to rock climb! Would like to add slacklining to that list. All Joyful. I can also find great pleasure in being a bohemian layabout.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at my job. I have been a pre school teacher for many years and I love it. Also really good at finding ways to entertain myself. Love to learn new things. If something captures my imagination I'll be sure to learn every fact I can on the subject.
If I have a super power it is this; To see people fully for who the are and give them the freedom to be just that...Which has honed in me another skill. Getting comfortable with uncertainty. No matter how deeply you love you can not choose for another what life should be.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music for these days is mostly singer songwriters. Josh Ritter, Iron and Wine and so on. Lyrics are everything to me. Lyrics can speak to my soul and express my psyche. Music is how I soothe myself and process my world. My roots are jam band. Still love to see a good jam band live but don't really listen to it anymore. Love to read. I read a lot of Eastern philosophy. Pema Chodron has had a profound affect on my life. However I'm not above reading trash. Favorite movie in the last few years was "180 South". Truly inspiring
The six things I could never do without
Yoga, yoga, yoga....ok that and my french press. A good cup of coffee is a must in life.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately I have been thinking a lot about minimalism. How much is enough and what do we really need? I also spend alot of time daydreaming about adventures I would like to have. The Ken Burns film "The National Parks, America's Best Idea" has inspired a passion to see our parks. Many road trips in my future. Truth be told, love and passion are on my mind a lot, and how they play off each other....
On a typical Friday night I am
I clean friday nights at the yoga studio where I practice. Yoga for trade! Usually out of there by 8:00 and off to grab a really good beer or see some music.
