In sum, let's just say I'm a nerd. I'm also a Georgia native, one of the few in Atlanta, apparently. Moved up here a couple of years ago to finish up my higher education.

With respect to the nerd fact, I like to do anything from building robots, reading, gaming...well, quite frankly, a lot of things. I'm not terribly athletic, but I do like doing things outdoors, too. So, I'm sort of a modern day Renaissance man.

I have a tendency to speak my mind, and overall, I have a pretty dry and silly sense of humor. I'm also quite laid back.

Currently, I'm working on a PhD, focusing on robotics. My day job involves radar.

I describe myself as a Renaissance man because, well, I'm not really good at anything. I like to do a lot of different things and have varying levels of competence at all of them (drawing, writing, building stuff, etc.).

Although, I think my friends would consider me a good listener, but don't quote me on that.

(My certain "great talents" at certain video games are probably irrelevant.)

Usually, people notice how tall I am, and then it's my eyes. Assuming they can see my eyes.

Time for a bulleted list:

- I read mostly science fiction, fantasy, and some horror (mostly Stephen King's variety). Also, I like to read graphic novels/comics and nonfiction. So, uh, nearly everything. I like to read.

- My favorite movie is Ghostbusters. I also am quite fond of the Fifth Element, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and the recent Marvel/DC superhero movies. The Dude abides.

- I enjoy watching Mythbusters, Top Gear (the UK version, of course), Robot Chicken, and various cartoons. My TV junk food is paranormal shows. I was/am a Seinfeld fan. I still keep a candle burning for Babylon 5.

- Examples of the kind of music I like include The Protomen, REM, They Might Be Giants, and Mumford & Sons. I was an avid fan of DMB back when I was younger, not so much now. I also seriously love me some Irish/Celtic music. Really, I can find something in nearly all genres that I like. Certain types of metal give me a headache, though.

- I'll dodge the food question by saying that I'll eat almost anything. Although it's not quite a food, per se, I also enjoy fine beers, scotch, and whiskey (in moderation).

This question, I believe, this profile can do without.

I'm never not thinking. Except when I burn up components or trip and fall. And even then I'm likely thinking "oh crap why me".

On Fridays, I'm usually gaming with my friends, over the interwebs. Or reading, or watching TV. Nothing terribly out of the ordinary.

I have a lot of guilty pleasure music; let's just leave it at that.

You thought any of that up there is intriguing.
