My self-summary
Easily amused, fairly amusing, eternally curious. All in all, a really hoopy frood.

I'm a geek, logophile, animated speaker, great listener, earnestly passionate, pragmatic idealist, lazy workaholic, budding hedonist, optimistic nihilist (and sometimes, a nihilistic optimist), and usually brutally honest. People and their stories invigorate me, and I have no qualms about making a fool of myself.

I go by my own scale of age, on which I am 6 -- it's that great period where you're a big girl/boy, staying up late till like NINE PM*, yet the world still has a lot of its wonder.

I've always found normalcy vastly overrated; I'm genderqueer/genderfluid, poly and a novice kinkster.

* I now stay up a fair bit later than 9pm.
What I’m doing with my life
Changing the world; making computers do stuff. Improvising, both on-stage and off. Shedding a lot of weight accumulated over the years (recently unlocked the famously touted endorphin rush). Also butchering quotes and idioms, but we'll burn that bridge when we get to it.

In the recent past, I toppled a dictator, moved across the world, and now spend quite a bit of time exploring the idiosyncrasies of American/Californian life, a lot of which happens on Fridays.

This seems befitting/descriptive of my life right now: "He attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which." - Douglas Adams
I’m really good at
Thumb war.
L'esprit d'escalier.
Grokking technology.
Not panicking.
Making silly sounds/voices.
Air hockey.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair, or lack thereof -- I usually shave my head, which occasionally garners a few stares, or at least less-idle-than-usual glances; I'm currently growing it out and it's purple.
My shoes -- they're usually completely unremarkable, which is apparently uncommon.
My height, even though I'm not THAT large.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: anything by Douglas Adams (especially The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 'trilogy', Dirk Gently's Wholistic Detective Agency). Harry Potter. The couple of books I've read by Neil Gaiman (he's on top of my to-read list). The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Animal Farm by George Orwell (I am yet to get around to 1984). Melancholia by Basil Fateen.

Shows/Series: Suits, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother. This list is fairly stale since I stopped watching TV (one of the best decisions anyone can make, BTW), although it's still way too easy to hook me in front of a TV. I also love a lot of TED talks.

Movies: Many more than I can remember, including The Life of Brian, Paul, Red, Law Abiding Citizen, Fight Club, movies by Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, et al), V For Vendetta, The Matrix.

Music: Mostly rock-ish, including (in no particular order): Parov Stelar, Queen, Muse, Explosions in the Sky, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Tenacious D, The Blues Brothers, Barenaked Ladies. Also, Daft Punk, for making a movie out of an album (Interstella 5555, with those smurf-coloured people you've been wondering about).

Food: Almost anything, but not a lot of seafood. Recently discovered burritos, clam chowder, meatloaf. All-time favourite: Koshary!
The six things I could never do without
* Laughter
* Sunlight
* Stories
* Puns
* Music
* Alternatives to pants
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the Universe, and Everything. Yes, that's a bit cliché, but I couldn't come up with anything more specific (yet accurate).

Recent musings: The number of Jaguars (cars) in Silicon Valley vs. the rest of CA; why there are so many varieties of Mexican food wrapped in baked stuff; the balance between being exceedingly vague and overly verbose; first impressions and vibes people feel about other people.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out and about:
- Exploring.
- Karaoke-ing.
- Doing improv.
- Playing some computer, board or drinking games.
- Or anything, really; whatever sounds fun. Probably making a fool of myself somewhere.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still read Deadmau5 as dead-maw-five.
