My Self-Summary
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies: I like movies. I'm really into the French New Wave films right now, anything Jean-Pierre Melville, all films involving Noah Baumbach, especially the Squid and the Whale and Kicking and Screaming (probably my favorite ever). Most things including Chris Eigeman. Barcelona. Brick. Most Sam Peckinpah (Straw Dogs, Wild Bunch, The Getaway, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia), Hard Boiled, The Killer. Movies with Steven McQueen or Alain Delon. Jean-Paul Belmondo. Humphrey Bogart when he's kicking ass. The Graduate. Animal House. Silly comedies, anything for a laugh. Monty Python. Most things British. Withnail & I. Woody Allen. Eddie Burns. Eddie and the Cruisers. Terrible B-Movies. Oscar Winners. Pretentious indies. Mister Foe. Documentaries, especially ones about music. In Brugges, Death at a Funeral, Wristcutters, Starter For 10, Eagle vs. Shark, Grosse Pointe Blank. Many things involving John Cusack. Anything with Zooey, except for Elf. Most 80s teen flicks. Dr. Strangelove, Swingers. Almost anything. Honestly this list may go on forever so I'll stop here.
Music: Anything ever touched by Greg Cartwright. Andre Ethier, The Deadly Snakes. Sam Cooke, Otis, Wilson Pickett, most soul from the 60s. Most music from the 50s. Early punk, Ramones, British punk from the 70s and 80s (Undertones, the Jam, Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers), Flamin' Groovies, rock and also roll. British Invasion, The Animals. The Kinks. Television. Rod Stewart. New Order, Joy Division, in that order. Van Morrison. Bruce Springsteen. Any music with a heartbeat. Or anything with some heartbreak. A lot of new stuff recently, Telekinesis, Phoenix, Mayer Hawthorne, Camera Obscura, Black Lips, Raphael Saadiq, Neko Case. Into a lot of electro pop over the last couple of years. If it makes you boogie or gives you the chills I'm into it.
Food: Any food that can also be categorized as an ethnicity. Italian, Mexican, Thai! But my favorite food is sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, club sandwiches, ring sandwiches, mini sandwiches, cold sandwiches, hot! sandwiches, all sandwiches. I've been cooking on the grill a lot.
The six things I could never do without
2. Eyeglasses, I'm blind.
3. The wisdom of Special Agent Dale Cooper.
4. Cardigan sweaters.
5. The Internet. Sadly.
6. Mobile Phone. Again, sadly.
