My self-summary
This might be the closest I ever come to writing an autobiography, so please forgive me if I come across as nervous, uncertain, conceited, conflicted, or ridiculous. I wish I could blame any impending grammatical errors on auto-correct, but I'm on a computer, not my iPhone, so I take full ownership of them and hope that they don't leave a lasting, negative impression on you.

Now that I've taken care of a few disclaimers, I'll try to move on to something a bit more substantive. I'm a country boy at heart, who loves the city because I'm also hopelessly liberal. On the weekends and holidays, however, I venture into conservative territory to hike, bike, trail run, and make Republicans uncomfortable with my progressive presence.

I don't make my bed, I slurp ramen noodles (loudly), and I spend embarrassing amounts of time attempting to remove the residue left behind by price tag stickers on the purchases that I make.

When I'm not in GOP territory hiking, slurping noodles, or picking at sticker residue, I can probably be found reading a good book, spending time with a close friend, or baking. Baking is like therapy to me. Taking precise measurements of multiple dry ingredients satisfies my neurosis in a way that nothing else does. The pumpkin chocolate chip scones that are the result of my neurotic measuring aren't bad either.
What I’m doing with my life
I watched a video recently that someone had uploaded to Facebook. The narrator of the short clip had a soothing British accent and gave a convincing argument for pursuing a career that revolved around doing something that you love as opposed to something aimed at earning lots of money. Since it's too late for me to begin a career as a back-up dancer for Britney, I take comfort in knowing that I have my own office where I can sing along to Toxic during my lunch hour.

While my career is important to me, I also recognize the importance of good self-care and appropriate work-life balance. My friends are like family and I try to make space for them on a regular basis. I prefer the company of a small group of close friends to a party filled with many acquaintances.
I’m really good at
My hidden talent is the ability to turn my eyelids inside-out. Kids love it while adults generally find it disgusting.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've often been told that I resemble Hugh Laurie a.k.a. "Dr. House".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The other day I was looking at the blank space above my fireplace thinking that it would be nice to have a T.V. and someone to cuddle with and watch a movie with on that T.V. Sadly, the T.V. and the cuddle partner still only exist in my daydreams. I'm looking to change that, however.
The six things I could never do without
I'll assume this isn't a literal list, so I'll avoid copying and pasting Maslow's hierarchy of needs into this space. Do people count as things? This is my profile, so I say that they do, in which case my list includes: family, friends, the mountains, my phone, green tea, and Trader Joe's dark chocolate peanut butter cups.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I never felt guilty about eating meat until I moved to Seattle. Now I purchase packages of frozen chicken thighs at QFC at midnight in disguise.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm not on the couch recovering from the workweek, I'm probably exploring a new restaurant, or catching up with friends over adult beverages.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I lied to my orthodontist about wearing my headgear in Jr. High, and was told that I have a "very impressive aura" by a reputable psychic in Chennai, India.
