I don't feel I do the term "nerd" justice, but I do own the glasses. I've really never had my face in a book. And yet, I am in my 4th year of grad school. All the jokes one might make at this point are probably valid. But I love what I do.
I'm really, really ridiculously passionate about music. Unfortunately, most of that passion is now limited to the shower. I was a singer all throughout high school and college, a self-professed a cappella nerd. The same passion goes for Indian classical dancing. I've danced solo and in groups in different countries, and I just wrapped up an international tour with a company. Struggling grad student + struggling artist = winning. As far as sports go, they don't. I questioned my Indian heritage when I found out I was an awful tennis player. I used to be an avid swimmer, and now I enjoy running, hiking, and yoga.
Food is also a huge part of my life. I generally eat healthy, so I like people who take care of themselves, but I can enjoy a good binge as well. I'm a vegetarian, but pork was once my best friend. I look back fondly on my days of General Tso's, but it's not something I've really missed.
I attend grad school and live temporarily in PA, but I'm in NJ and NYC pretty often. Eventually, I plan to return to the New York metro full-time, so I'm looking for someone in this area.
