My self-summary
I live in NYC (the Bronx) originally from Philadelphia. I've been a restaurant manager, cruise ship worker, cleaned oil spills, civilian sailor, got a degree in psychology along the way. I'm now about a year away from being a ship's officer in the merchant navy.
What I’m doing with my life
I'll spend a quarter to half the year at sea, the other time training for career advancement. I'm not in the military. I honestly love what I do.
I’m really good at
I can cook, bake, fix a car, crochet a scarf, swing a hammer, train a dog, rewire a boat, lay asphalt, mix drinks, plan a wedding, fix leaks, ski and a thousand other random skills I have picked up from here and there.
The first things people usually notice about me
A drunk lady once called me a "snazzy dresser with a belt"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
Rimbaud, Yeats, Ginsberg, Kerouac, Dostoevsky, Dylan Tomas, James Joyce, Frank McCourt, Eugine O'Neill, Ibsen, Tolstoy, Hugo, etc.

Movies:
I am pretty far removed for popular cinema, but I did see Felinni's 8 1/2 in Rome in an outdoor viewing while getting drunk off some delicious red wine.

Shows:
I have not owned a TV in about five years. I will be more then happy to reminisce about old MTV and Nickelodeon when Doug, Rugrats, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and TRL was still on the air.

Music:
It is a mix of old blues, Euro-trash, some random british pop, Classic Irish music, and I do have some American Pop that may be dated, but I will never know. Recently though Claude Debussy, Mendelssohn, Wagner, Brahms, ect. have been my go to.

Food:
If it comes from a box or a drive through; I avoid it. If it comes from a small shop owned by someone that does not speak English well; I buy two of whatever they are cooking. High tea is wonderful and more people should go and enjoy it. I really like offals and cheap cuts cooked long and low.
The six things I could never do without
In no order of importance.
1. Mental library of pub songs
2. Multi-tool
3. LipBalm
4. Shoe laces. Think about it.
5. A clean bathroom
6. Valid library card
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When my dog barks at me, I find a ball so he can chase it. How is it my dog is behaving like Pavlov and I have been outsmarted.
On a typical Friday night I am
I could be out in town or snuggled up with a book and some hot chocolate; the pendulum swings wildly
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You will earn extra points in my book for a well timed pull of my hair...
You should message me if
Singing in the shower is your thing and you don't mind how you look when dancing; own what you've got and we can get along quite well.
